Dude was underpaying for years, obviously. Assuming the new rate is based on market value, and a presumption that market values didn’t go up by 350% in one year.
I spend a lot of time not really being myself. It’s a heavy load. I need to spend more quiet time with myself. I feel too loud and performative at work lately, and I don’t really like that version of me. But I’m not sure the more natural version of me would be well liked by anyone else.

My older son put in for the lottery for a lottery-only school in our district (not a charter - charter schools can fuck allllll the way off). He was 122 on the wait list originally, then over several days he went down to 22, then 15, now 7. I really hope he makes it in! It’s an alternative school that’s a magnet for gifted and nontraditional kids and I think he would have an easier time finding his people there over our home school (which is also a good school, no bad outcomes in this, thankfully).

My grandson got into the best lottery school by them - which means his younger sister is automatic and doesn’t need the lottery. Do you get similar?
