We used to have numerous backups. Now maybe only AA, AAA and buttons. Wouldn’t surprise me if we had some Ds. (We were out of Ds recently; probably got more than we needed immediately). Cs would surprise me.

One person I know who used to say “work smarter not harder” was super lazy, and did not work either smart or hard (to be fair, they probably thought they were working smart)

Now I just found another one who said that, and they seem to be a crook, judging by the amount of lawsuits by different people against them

I am not going to think well of the next person I meet who says that

Especially for the small batteries that cost $8 for 1 if you run out to the store, but you can order ahead of time and get 10 -20 for $5 online.

yes,

AA, AAA mostly - remotes

D for a lantern i just bought ( we lose power often enough,) and an airpump

9V for garage door opener

recently invested in rechargeable AAs for small devices such as the one wireless Switch controller we have that isn’t rechargeable

Its almost like I totally know what D batteries are used for but I’m pretending not in service of a joke.

Booked my health assesment for the year (subsidised by company).

2hrs long this year and very comprehensive as it also includes mental health checks.

They really are making an effort this year to focus a bit more on employee well-being (I think because quite a few people have reported feeling burned out from work).

What sized bra do I need to use to store 4 D batteries?

depends on how much you fill in the rest of it

Prolly should schedule longer

Try to do as well as Trump on the Cognitive test. :grinning:

…as I sit here popping some Dark Raisinets, i.e. the superior form of chocolate covering luscious bits of nature’s candy

:ducks:

You could just lick the delicious, oh so goooood dark chocolate off the dirty, nasty, smelly, disgusting, vile, flower stomping, eeeeeevil, wrinkly, fetid rai-SINS.

You could have had chocolate covered blueberries, cranberries, almonds, etc., but you fell for that “nature’s candy” nonsense. I am disappoint. Oh so disappoint… :unamused: :-1:

Little sister is getting married in mid June which is really super short notice (I didn’t get the full story but I think there was a cancellation and she nabbed it).

She has also picked a pretty out of the way Church in Spain so its going to take some time to get there from London.

So fly in on Friday, wedding on Sat, and come back on Sunday.

Full suits with vests and tails though…eek. i am going to boil to death in the 30+ weather.

Dark matter is just modern day aether, a plug in an equation to explain an outcome we can’t otherwise explain with our models…

I was initially taken aback by this . . . 'til I remember that you don’t live in the US . . .

But I feel for you . . . especially if it’s going to be a fairly traditional RC wedding . . .

Was just thinking about a strategic board game called Diplomacy that we used to spend hours playing at at university. It was a bit of a craze in the late 60s but I was wondering if anyone else here was familiar with it? Or has it disappeared as a pastime?

Yup! We played that with a student teacher after school back in high school, as a club activity.
