I think both verizon and t mobile market wireless internet options.

Enough people have been talking about Skyline Chili on discord that I have no choice but to go there for dinner tonight, after my son’s doctor’s appointment. He likes it, I love it, and my husband absolutely despises it, so it’s a good chance for the two of us to go.

Depending on context: In some cases, it’s a “gag” gift. Something that looks wonderful–like tickets for a Taylor Swift concert–but isn’t useful at all that took place in 2022.

who knew guitar picks were round?

My daughter’s bff and family friend just dropped by. We got talking about their partner. Turns out he’s from Burundi. Which I think I’d vaguely heard of, but couldn’t have told you that it was an actual country. Just googled it, it’s a complete shithole. One of the poorest countries in Africa, and that’s saying something. Lucky his family managed to get out and immigrate to canada.

There was some ‘tribal’ wars there and Rwanda in the 90s IIRC. When the fighting ended the two countries had essentially separated by tribes. The Tutsi that had the economic advantage (preferred tribe during colonial times) are now mostly in Rwanda so Rwanda is doing very well and the Hutu, the ones accused of starting the genocide, are mostly in Burundi and poor. A sad thing about the whole thing is these two tribes are a creation of the colonialists there. They were one people before.

Well, I was pretty much paraphrasing wikipedia rather than quoting the incoming US president :).

The town i live in is sometimes just too stereotypical.

My son dated a local girl for years. They split, she got a bit nasty. Ok. This year she csame into the restaurant my son works at. Orders a drink by herself. Glares at him. When she leaves. She tells the waitress, best drink she’s ever had. Oooook.

Last night hes out with his current gf at the local pub/restaurant. This girls father comes over to the table.stands for a second, then says ‘i hope we can talk someday’.
My son just says ‘whatever day you want, just let me know’.

Dude turns around and walks away.

I swear half this town never got over high school.

not sure if the dad thing was - we have something to discuss or I liked you, I wish we could talk despite my crazy ass daughter

Dad is a orick and a bit odd. My guess, he’s part of a bunch of high school drama in their house. To my point about small towns. Drama is a pass time.

I mean, he’s a grown man. If he had something to say or wanted to talk, just say it.

My take was, if I run into his ex gf, I just say HI! How are you? How’s things? Where are you working? Still living at home?.etc. like a normal human does when their kids break up with someone.

It’s really unfortunate. There was a time I travelled a lot and I only drank Heineken. It is available everywhere and it tastes the same everywhere.

My favorite bourbon is the bourbon chicken at Leann chin, but I’m not going to mess up this thread with my ridiculousness.
