Random Thoughts

If I should ever stumble upon a Time Machine I shall be careful not to set it to go back to England between (inclusive) September 3 & 13 in 1752.

Or a crap ton of other countries / dates, but I think Russia was pretty close to last and once they switched anyone allied with Russia switched in pretty short order.

Child #3: ā€œIt is kind of important to me. It’s more important than JFK’s birthday.ā€

Child #3: ā€œWhen is JFK’s birthday? No one knows, because we don’t celebrate it.ā€

Got invited to a family dinner with some inlaws in Sao Paulo but they are difficult people (very right-wing religious types).

Too much effort to fly there from Rio before flying back to the UK.

Told the wife to RSVP ā€œnoā€.

I had the mole removed this morning. It was considered cosmetic because I don’t really have any issues with it other than a family history of skin cancer, but it was only $150 and I didn’t even feel it. It’s a little sore now. It’s going to be weird, I don’t remember a time before I had this giant thing.

My son didn’t know I had it (it’s on my shoulder blade and I don’t wear clothing very often that would show it), so I showed him last night. ā€œOh my gosh! That’s…that’s really weird, momā€ (as he was touching/squishing it). Thanks, I guess that validates my decision to have it removed.

Kids!!!

Are they checking it for cancer or did you just not like the way it looked?

Hope everything heals well and you’re happy with your decision.

They’ll have it biopsied, but I’m not worried about cancer. I’m worried about it becoming cancerous someday, though. I didn’t have a problem with how it looked, but it was positioned such that it was really hard to keep an eye on it, and it sometimes got caught on my clothing, which was annoying.

Been making, poorly, some Turkish coffee recently.

I just did some googling and I’m not even in the same planet as to how to make it.

Trying another method right now.

I could google, but what is it and what’s the point of it ?

Mostly it’s just tasty. The stuff I bought I think has cardamom in it?

Watching a video while I’m making it, clearly I’m still making it wrong lol. Oh well, tomorrow is another day.

Random thought on coffee break. One of my fishing with nerds students is helping me with getting connected to a vc firm. I think it’s about 95 percent probable they won’t invest because well, it’s not like I’m curing cancer here. But the process is looking to be VERY useful in identifying some large holes in my strategy.

Basically I need to have some very good answers as to why my business is ā€˜the one’. And developing those answers results in identifying things I should be doing right now.

I assume you’re not making it in boiling sand? That’s all I’ve ever seen about Turkish coffee. But I assume it isn’t the only way to make it, perhaps just the most visually pleasing for TikTok.

Lol no. Starting with cold water then boiling it off and on a few times.

I created a term related to a life insurance strategy. Started using it. Now I’m seeing my competitors use it in social media.

Lawyer said about a 50% chance I could get a successful trademark.
