My childhood home was sold to a elementary school principle in our district, whose wife was an 8th grade teacher at a nearby Middle School. I was in 8th grade at the time, and, yes, she was my English teacher. She said to me, a couple of times, in front of the entire class “Y’know, Jeff, we keep finding Lego pieces tucked away here and there in the house.”

Well, that was just an lol moment.
Needed to scrape premiums from an insurance company. Normally my dev guy builds a script and lets it run. One company though, no-can do. Dev guy says they’ve got preventative measures on the website to stop this. OK, I suggest that we skip the front end contact and just call their backend directly. Also a no-go for ‘technical reasons’. Worth noting, I’ve been doing insurance software stuff since 1986 and my dev, since about 2005. We’re not newbs.
So, have to scrape the info manually, one case at a time. Too brutal for me, so I jump on the fishing with nerds discord and ask if any students want to do the grunt work for pay. A bunch jump in, I pick a guy I know was reliable. He’s a dev, so I emphasized not to waste his time working through a script, just do it manually, might take a week or two. OK.
an hour later he pings me ‘sorry, I didn’t listen to your directions, but I wrote a program anyway. Here’s all your data’. lol, well I’ll be damned.
I am gonna grind my dev guy lol. Some upstart newb shows us both up.

I got 2 nice reply notifications in a row minutes ago. Nice. Then they disappeared. I think someone gave the 10th like to 2 of my posts, then immediately unliked them. That’s the only thing I can come up with to why those notifications would show up then disappear within minutes.
