Well you already have your beer goggles on.

Good night, Gracie.

From IT:
We are currently receiving reports of slowness from some employees. We are looking into the issue and will provide updates as they are available.

I can tell you what the issue is: employees tend to be slower on Monday mornings due to weekend fun. Duh.

20 mg to get baked reminded me of baking cookies for 20 min.

Receptionist usually has 80s music playing, but today she’s mixing it up & playing 70s. I love 80s, but I’m enjoying the change of pace. Bring on the Bee Gees!!!

I have been an FSA for 6 years as of today.

I shouldn’t take days off in the middle of the week. I’m struggling to get my butt in gear.

Actually I’m struggling in general. I have a lot of things weighing on me, and the facade is a heavy burden, too. Lots of weight.

Hospital called with an estimate of my surgery cost. This includes the hospital and surgeon fee, but not anesthesia. My 20% is just over $500. That can’t be right, can it? I figured the surgeon’s fee would be at least $2500 all by itself. The hospital is an outpatient facility so maybe less overhead?

Oh well, don’t look a gift horse in the mouth. (But also don’t be surprised if the final bill is much higher.)

Outpatient is cheaper, and I’m no surgery expert, but $2,500 does sound cheap. Did your doctor go to Hollywood Upstairs Medical College, by chance?

If there’s one area of medicine where we’ve found cost efficiency (and let’s face it, there aren’t many), it seems to be in surgeries that are pretty standardized. It’s why bundled payments came early for joint replacements and CABGs, often times a doctor wakes up and does the same surgery six times in a row that day. Hope it goes well for ya!

Is the surgeon fee being billed by the facility (I see you said it was, I guess I’m more intrigued by it than actually asking)? My surgeon billed me separately, as did the anesthesiologist. The facility was still crazy expensive though, so even without those, it still sounds low to me!
