Why am I getting these “nice share” badges when I’m not sharing links to here?
Me too. 
I got an Amex Gift card from work.
There are two charges (all I know is Amazon and Amazon Prime) totaling $35.
I challenged the charges.
A week later I get an email asking for:
Driver’s License
Utility Bill
Receipts
Pictures of the card
Does that seem excessive to anyone? It was an unsecure e-mail to send the information to.
I have disputed Credit Cards with $20k+ limits that didn’t ask for anything, as all I want is them to identify the purchases and if not mine, correct the balance.
I sent them pictures of the card and told them there were no receipts and no legitimate need for anything else.
There is only $7.80 left on the card, so not worried about it to much and willing to eat the $35 rather than send my info unsecured
Complain to your company. Tell them to ask other employees if same thing happened. Ask them to contact provider of gift cards (assuming they bought them in bulk). They’ll have more sway than you, assuming they are large enough. I agree DL and utility bill is not worth the risk.

When I was an infant, my father purchased a whole life policy for me with a small face value of 10k. Sometime in my early 20’s, he gave it to me along with the responsibility for paying the premiums. I’m still paying the annual premiums, although it’s a minor PITA because it is one of the few bills that require me to send a physical check via snail mail. I often go a whole year mailing no bill payments other than this one.
It now has some cash value. I don’t have any need for life insurance at all, let alone a policy with low payout. Should I keep paying the premiums or cash it out? Can it be donated to charity? I don’t know if there are any surrender fees associated with a cash out.
I had something similar that was like $50 a year. I cashed it in when they handed it to me back in my 20s. I think it was worth about $1000.
I think this was popular in the old days. My father took out whole life policies with a face value of $1,000 in 1950 for me and my older brother. When we turned 21, we just cashed them in as we needed the funds.

I’ve still got a $2,000 paid up policy from my parents. It’s been buying PUAs with the divs, so it’s up to, idk, like, $2,500 now? I’ve never gotten to where I needed the money and it hasn’t seemed worth the effort to cash it in.
Surrender fees are implicit on trad non par wl. You’ll be paid the cash surrender value, possibly fractional refund of annual premium for months you’ve paid in advance ( but maybe not if they pay the csv based on the date your premiums cover). If it is non-par, your csv will likely be based on 1961 csi at 3.5%, but it may be more than that minimum standard.
Assuming you don’t need the coverage of the face less csv I’d surrender. You’ve almost certainly paid more in premiums than csv, so no taxes due, no benefit to assigning to charity before surrender.

I put an 8lb salt block in my yard in the country as an attraction for animals. It had a hole in the middle and a rope on it. It’s suddenly gone. Who/what do you think took it?
It is too heavy for small critters. I don’t think a deer would have done it, but I suppose it’s possible. The yard guys weren’t around. It’s highly unlikely anyone else would have been in that spot, and they’d likely have tripped a security camera. It’s not an attractive item for someone to take anyway
My bet is a neighborhood dog grabbed it by the rope and hauled it somewhere. A big dog did trip a nearby camera.

The house was sold maybe nine months ago. Shortly after the sale, a U-Haul shows up, and I see some deliveries on the porch, I saw a pizza being delivered. Then nothing for months, no trash on the curb. Zero signs of life.
Then maybe three months later I see a young child running down the sidewalk, maybe five years old. So I look up and see a woman pushing a stroller. They go into the house. Then nothing again, for months.
Recently three vehicles show up, and then nothing. Still no trash put out for collection.
Who buys a house and almost never uses it? It’s a pretty nice house, 3BR/2BR, they pad $360k for it. So far, the best working theory we have is that they are vampires.

I found a name, I think. An attorney in KC. We did hear a rumor that an attorney bought it because he and his wife have three daughters attending KU. So that sort of tracks, except I’ve never seen anyone college age over there. And school has obviously been in session over the nine months they’ve owned it.
