Nah, most random questions don’t deserve a poll. I thought the answer to this was obvious but wondered if we’d get more advocates from the holdout NE states
Downtown Cincinnati has, I believe, exits 1A, 1B, 1C, 1D, 1E, 1F, and 1G on interstate 75, but those are tied to mile markers, not adding 6 new stops after the exits were initially numbered.
I think it’s actually more than a 1 mile span between 1A and 1G and that might be tweaking the exact route a bit.
Which is why exit numbers should be assigned like BASIC line numbers. You start out labelling the exits using 10s, and use the in-between numbers as needed for new exits. Then after a few years you let OCD kick in and renumber everything using 10s again.
Nnnnnoooooooooo!!!
is it too on brand as a “cheap actuary” to keep wearing this shirt in 100% informal settings?
golf shirt. like the color and pattern. wore to a reunion w name tags for all. got tackled into water with nametag on. glue and sticker leave permanent residue on shirt (including the printed name “tommie”). several washes later it remains, a 1in x 3in scar on the chest
Try a solvent like acetone. Or wear more nametags.
I had one like that. After a bunch of washes I was able to get all of the sticky stuff off.
Yes, imo. Try one of the suggestions or pick up a copy of readers digest. They probably have a solution with ingredients you already have at home!

If Michael Jackson is considered the “King of Pop” then who is considered the “Queen of Pop?”
Me: If Michael Jackson isn’t considered the “King of Pop,” then who is considered the “Queen of Pop?”
Queen Latifah. It’s right there in the name.
It’s clearly Sofia Vergara . . .

What does it mean to turn the AC up? My husband and I have different opinions, so help settle this.
- Make it warmer
- Make it colder
My husband says it means to turn the temperature up, and I say it means to turn the effects up.
“Turn the AC up” is the opposite of “turn the thermostat up”…imo.
This is how I say things.
It’s vague … sort of like how inflammable means both “flammable” AND “not flammable” and thus it simply should not be used at all.
“Turn the A/C warmer” or “turn the A/C colder” is not open to interpretation.

That said, if pressed … you are right and he is wrong.
its all down hill from here
getting better or worse?
I think there’s a subtle distinction there.
If you’re talking about how easy or difficult something is then downhill would be easier (think cycling or walking/running).
“If you can just get through the first two weeks of running every day then it’s all downhill from there.” That means it will be easier after the first two weeks.
If you’re talking about the quality of something the peak/summit is the best and going downhill would be bad.
“That neighborhood used to be nice, but it’s going downhill.”
“I would advise finding a place to eat while you’re still on the interstate because once you exit it’s all downhill from there in terms of food choices.”
Downhill signifies worse… like the view would be worse as you’re going down the hill.
