You would potentially run into major FERPA issues if you recorded anything about the kids without their parents permission.

I don’t know that much about the whole Lindsay Clancy thing. And sorry in advance if there’s already a thread about it.
It’s interesting though that there seems to be some political correlation: ultra MAGA types seem to be firmly “she is completely guilty, fry 'er” while there’s a second camp (not necessarily exactly DSA/opposite-of-MAGA types) that is okay with not guilty by insanity, along with a third camp of mainly conspiracy theorist types who think the husband manipulated her into doing it.
So I thought I’d ask the smart people of GoA-land. What is the consensus here of Lindsay’s guilt or non-guilt or innocence?
My opinion is that this is one of those tragic stories that media (mass and social) have spent way too much time obsessed over, and for which I am thankful to have no basis to have formed an opinion.

as far i understand it, she had a severe post partum depression, actually reached out for help and was failed by every person and organization that might have prevented this.
I can’t comment if that is enough legally to exonerate her.

As someone who has heard exactly one youtube video about this case (i think it might have been Legal Eagle?), I’ll just point out that postpartum psychosis, which is reportedly what she has/had, is not postpartum depression. It’s a rare, but recognized thing. The words Google uses to describe it include abrupt loss of reality, halucinations, extreme confusion, delusions, extreme mania, disorientation, etc. That’s not postpartum depression.
The state made the mistake of going for first degree murder and couldn’t prove intent. This is exactly what not guilty by reason of insanity is for.
She could clearly demonstrate she believed herself to be a risk to her children and NO ONE helped her. Her husband left her alone with the children despite this. Her husband’s mother testified that she pleaded for help.
She was a victim and I feel a huge amount of sympathy for her. She has to live with this for the rest of her life. I can’t imagine.
