Even if you exempt the athletes, the affected countries still have to sign off on their attendance. Will be politically hard to do on their end as their population will not be able to attend.
I was intending to imply that the only way the US would win the world cup would be if all foreigners were banned. That’s obviously not going to happen, as FIFA would have to move it elsewhere. Banning a few small countries does nothing to the US odds. They’d have to ban Europe and South America for the US to be anything other than a huge long shot.
I’m sure they’d be welcome if they shell out US$5m for a golden visa.

Even then the US would not be the favorite. There are a bunch of teams in front of them now in world Elo rankings that aren’t from Europe or South America. The US would have at least have a shot to win in that format.

Some of the local papers on FB refer to Juneteenth as “America’s Second Independence Day.” Which it is, in a way. Although some locals couldn’t resist the urge to reply with comments to the effect of “nope, we have one Independence Day, July 4.” I can’t white figure out what compelled them to have to say that.
I was bored tonight, so I randomly FB-stalked a random person from a local-interest page. She somehow has the combination of being married to another woman, yet having that Lifewise Academy cult as one of her "like"s.
