So it seems that the US has a better system here.
Family law varies quite a bit from state to state. In AZ, we basically filled out a spreadsheet with income, amount of time the child is with each parents, expenses and other stuff, and it spits out a number. My ex tried to make the argument that her stock options were part of her income and shouldnât be divided in the financial settlement, but that they were not income for the purposes of child support calculation.

Itâs not âenforceableâ, in the sense that I am always free to go out and find a job paying more, paying less, stay where I was, or not work at all.
But what it means is that when my child support is calculated, for ârecipientâs incomeâ they used the consultantâs number. (The consultantâs number was lower than my max salary in my earnings history - which he did look at⌠Iâd cut WAY back on working to spend more time with Mini Me at the time we split.)
If the consultant had found that I wasnât capable of working at all or was capable of earning less than he found then Iâd have higher child support. But I am under no obligation to actually earn that income.

y thing is that STBX turned down a major promotion in order to reduce his child support obligation. But since heâs never made that kind of money that doesnât factor into his potential income.
I could have hired my own consultant to present a competing view of my own earnings potential but it didnât seem likely to be materially different.
Well, I spoke with a shift manager, who gave me the store managerâs email and said I would be forwarded from there to the local chain owner.
Emailed with several news links. Didnât mention a political affiliation once, just the incidents of racism and sexual assault reported about the farm. Havenât heard back in 5 days. I think Iâll go in and follow up.

Talked to my parents. My BIL is stressed about work because he is an engineer for the county DOT and federal funding is relevant for his job. They arenât die hard Trump in any way, but I assume they both voted for him over Harris because they get enough Fox News style nonsense fed to them (mostly from their friends and social media). My mom said she never thought Trump would be doing the things he was doing. I pointed out I was a bit surprised at how awful he has been but none of this was truly surprising. She was explicitly unhappy with Musk being involved.
More of a random story than a thought.

I think other dash cams and other personal security cameras are available. Heck, motorcyclists and bicyclists have cameras attached to their helmets. I cannot visit that site, though. nannynet
You could certainly just use a GoPro. The difference with this device is that you can hit a button in a dangerous situation and it automatically uploads to the cloud. That way any bad actors canât just simply take your device if caught on tape.

Yeah, in all likelihood my need at a Pride event wouldnât extend to immediate cloud storage. Even if there was an assault or mass shooting, I shouldnât lose control of a camera. Just a GoPro would be fine, I wasnât really thinking it through. Thanks

Even I, old guy (not @Cooke old, but still), know that tape is not used anymore.
However, someone can simply take the GoPro before you have a chance to upload(/download?) the pixelage (not âfootageâ which implies a reel of tape). Seems to me that GoPro needs a software upgrade to upload the recording immediately to a nearby phone which then uploads it to a cloud area.
