Random Fitness Thoughts

Had my 6-month follow up with the doctor. My triglycerides crashed since last time when I started incorporating oatmeal into most of my breakfasts. But my LDL is still elevated (although a tad lower) so I’m starting on a low dose of statin. Gonna check cholesterol again and liver in 3 months, and follow up in 6 months.

Getting old sucks. (Although mid-40s isn’t super old just yet.)

Update: my LDL crashed to 84, and liver numbers are good, so the statin is doing its job.

But my triglycerides spiked back to 151, and my glucose is slightly elevated (although my A1C is normal). Also my CO2 is at the edge between normal and elevated, although I did recently finish two separate rounds of antibiotics/steroids for bronchitis that didn’t want to go away.

I did also kind of stuff my face with candy and sweet things all week, it having been Easter week and all. So I’m guessing/hoping that my doctor will want to recheck in 3 months before doing anything else.

Between the possibility of being prediabetic and Jaspbrother surviving pancreatic cancer (the slow NET kind that was also caught early), my mind has been racing with worry. Like, am I basically dying? :scream:

We all are. Some faster than others.
Strop eating so damned much candy.

Oddly enough, in spite of all that, my weight isn’t as high as it’s ever been (but at 175 I’m still a fatty patatty :sob: ). At least it’s almost yard work season.

i read this as I am stuffing my face with a few easter candy treats that the office down the hall had set out

I’m no better, trust me.
Wife put out Reese’s eggs. Right in front of me!
