You can watch the video and listen to what Trump was saying at the time. Hint: yes it’s a cult.

No shit.
It is almost as if context matters.
Sure Covid deaths were higher in 2021 because they peaked in his last week if office.
After the Inflation Reduction Act passed with an inflation cap for drugs pegged to the CPI we already have heard to expect new drug launches to be as much as 20% higher priced at launch because they won’t be able to raise prices post launch.
Also curious about the rebate game. Could they inflate prices slower but then reduce rebates over time to juice net revenue?
And will CMS go along with these 20% hikes, now that they can negotiate? I know it’s just a handful of drugs at first.
We need another Zaltrap moment. Here is a back story worth reading if you don’t know Zaltrap.
Even though it was a human trafficing political stunt, this is a better fit for the humor thread. Mainly because while he is asking for money, he hasn’t apologized.
I guess i found no humor in it.
Which is why i put it here.
Sort of long (3 minutes) “feel good” political ad, about America and Democracy in general with no specific candidates discussed. Lots of embedded truth

Political truth that isn’t funny:
There continues to be no such thing as “truth” and “facts”.
Nothing that happens in the entire world is real, as far as the average American is concerned.
do people even read newspapers or watch television news?
somehow I think confidence in those channels are kinda irrelevant at this point
I sometimes watch the local news and I have a digital subscription to the newspaper.
Unfortunately there’s so much infotainment/opinion that’s marketed as “news” that people are unable to tell the difference between the two, especially when the former actively sows seeds of distrust.
double edged sword imo.
maybe it’s a good thing that we’ve trained our young to distrust any information they’re fed.
What’s the result? Whatever they think or what’s convenient is “truth”? People don’t have the time or ability to appropriately “do their own research” on everything. I’m all for people learning how to discern the reliability of sources tho.
