What Would Democrats Do Without Trump?
Campaign ‘buzz‘ attends undistinguished pols who excoriate the president.
A formidable candidate for either party in 2028 is one who can show a record of genuine success, not a partisan commitment to fighting the last war.

I would ask the same question in Canada, replacing “Democrats” by “Liberals”.
Quote is from Facebook, but this link to Newsweek generally confirms it. ICE Agents Raid Home, Force Family Out in Their Underwear: 'Traumatized' - Newsweek
I posted about this in the ICE thread, with a linked story.
Trump is helping the Australian Labor Party similar to how he helped the Canadian Liberals.Trump may soon be partially responsible for a second conservative government failing to win. Their Saturday election results will be interesting as their issues are similar to Canada’s.
Yes I noticed that. Here’s the chart (perhaps confusing, red is the left wing party and blue is right wing) showing how much the expected share of seats changed.
It’s not confusing as long as you remember that America’s political color scheme is backwards, as compared to most of the rest of the world’s.
But it can be a little confusing because the blue/righter party has Liberal in their name since the red/lefter party is Labour
Australian PM may not have much time left to work with our PM. At least Carney helped him with the Vegemite crisis:
“Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese congratulated Mr. Carney and praised him for ending a trade spat over Vegemite, an Australian delicacy.
Earlier this month the Canadian Food Inspection Agency ordered a Toronto coffee shop to pull Vegemite because the regulator said it did not meet standards on vitamin fortification. After interventions by Mr. Albanese, Mr. Carney’s office expedited a review of the CFIA’s decision, which was later clarified to allow the spread to be sold.
“I’ve had a couple of really warm conversations with him. I thank him for defending Vegemite – a really practical outcome of the friendship that we have between Australia and Canada,” Mr. Albanese told reporters on Tuesday. “We have a close relationship, we are very similar countries, both part of the Commonwealth, we share a lot in common.”
In a follow-up statement on X, the Australian Prime Minister added: “In a time of global uncertainty, I look forward to continuing to work with you to build on the enduring friendship between our nations, in the shared interests of all our citizens.”
Additionally confusing is that the left wing political party uses the American spelling - Labor.
Vegemite on toast goes great with the morning coffee but sadly noone here believes me. Maybe there’s more hope in Canada.
You are supposed to just smile and give me a vegemite sandwich.
