Things are not that bad. Things are actually pretty good.
Everyone here has a good income. Their family is looked after. There’s no immediate or even midterm threat to our life (trans folks aside perhaps).
The problems in Gaza are severe locally but currently limited in scope, as is Ukraine.
My friend just called. He’s having artificial lenses places in his eyes, expects better than 20/20 when it’s done. Artificial joints are better than the original and commonplace…we have an injection drug that cures the symptoms of obesity. And before I’m dead, I expect a cure for diabetes.
