Did he stop donating when he found out she was black?
If someone asked him about the donation, it really wouldn’t surprise me if in his response was something like “well, at the time she said she was an Indian American but now she says she is a black American, and I obviously don’t support her anymore”.
That one would probably work also with “JD Vance’s kids watching Dems call their father a racist white-supremacist.”
It’s certainly interesting to watch him spin around to defend himself both from avowed white supremacists attacking him for his wife/kids while defending himself from anti-racists who oppose him running on a white nationalism ticket.
I think that there is a lot to criticize Vance for, but that a lot of the attacks on him are absurd. He’s also being unfairly criticized for changing his name multiple times (first change was from his birth father’s last name to his step father’s last name when his mom remarried, and his middle name was changed then too. He has no control over that. Opting to go by initials rather that his full name is no big deal, and last change was to go back to his mom’s maiden name to honor the fact that she is the one who raised him.)
and the attacks the other way aren’t? So stupidity leads to stupidity, play him as the full, make him defend himself. It is meaningless, but less insulting than attacking some’s race
