News that makes you say WTF?!?!

That is really sad to hear. That person knows more than anyone how that means affects others (like the drivers, maybe others).

Yeah, wow. That’s someone who actually knows what a toll those deaths take on the drivers. Surely he could have killed himself some other way? How much did he hate his employees?

Yeah, even judging by the standards of people who involve others in their suicide plans, that seems especially selfish.

I’m sorry that he felt he had to kill himself, but what a horrible way to do it. That poor driver.

Glad she was okay. That water main break absolutely had to be covered live by someone standing on the road nearby.

Why the heck did they not break to commercial, check on her, and THEN go forward with the newscast? Sheesh!

Saw this last night on the local news, right before the weather (all I bother to watch).
It’s her last week at the station so she’s gonna get her facetime, dammit!
She also notes that this is similar to when she was hit by a car in college.

Amazingly, this was not the first time she was hit by a car.

And there is a pretty good chance that she was all alone out there. It use to be there would be a camera man and maybe a producer helping with lighting, but now they go out alone with their iphone.

Yeah, this was discussed in another Covid thread. Definitely a case of play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

Also:
“That which does not kill me only makes me stronger.”
This is actually an IF/THEN statement.

Said she “choked to death.” How do we know it was COVID?

Is there a distinction somewhere of dying BECAUSE of COVID or dying WHILE HAVING the COVID?

If I have COVID and have a heart attack, am I listed as a COVID death? Or if I have cancer, contract the COVID and die, same question.

Norm Macdonald, quite hte dark humorist at times joked once: (parapharasing)

“They say he ‘waged a battle’ against cancer and lost. But tell me if I’m wrong, but didn’t the cancer die at the same time he did?”

(this is a PG-13 quote that goes on…)

“That, to me, is not a loss. That’s a draw,” Macdonald joked. “It’s not like the cancer’s gonna friggin’ jump up and be like, ‘Ah, I’m screwin’ Uncle Bert’s wife. Where is she? I won fair and square. This where he works? Hi, name’s Cancer. Just show me to my cubicle. Bowel, first name.'”

Not too far from the 84 that leads into … New York state. Quite a coincidence.
