When it comes to breakfast, what is the difference between a chicken and a pig?
Chickens are merely contributors.
The pig is fully committed.

It was a huge mistake to not have smelted it back then.
There is probably a better thread for this but I couldn’t think of it off hand.
LIMA, Ohio (WKRC) - An Ohio woman took legal ownership of a dealership’s name after her newly purchased car was repossessed.
According to Fortune, citing court documents, Tiah McCreary took legal ownership of a KIA dealership’s name after the business repossessed the vehicle around a month after she bought it, in what was described as an act of revenge.
The outlet reported that McCreary had been exploring legal options against the dealership when she learned that the business had failed to renew the registration on its name with the Ohio Secretary of State.
McCreary took action and registered it in her name, then filed a cease-and-desist order against the business, demanding that they stop using the name it has operated under since 2012, resulting in a legal battle between the two parties.
ok this is funny but it’s hard to say who are the bad guys here
It seems unlikely that the dealership held the loan. So, presumably, the dealership wasn’t the one who repoed the car.
That makes the dealership the de facto good guy, I suppose.
I’ve seen this in multiple places online.
Honestly, she could just say, “You can have your name back in exchange for one of your cars.” Dealer might appreciate the discretion.
Downside is that it will likely be a Kia. Make sure the dealer throws in the warranty and the loaner car for when something breaks down.
It would be interesting to understand what lead to the loan ultimately being revoked. Obviously, to get out the door the dealership had to have initial approval from the loan company. So was it a problem with what she provided to the dealership or what the dealership asked for to get approval?
This would be similar to those who register domain names that expired then sell it back to the original owner. Just that this one had a revenge motive involved.
From what I’ve read it seems she sued them and the trial court dismissed and sent it to arbitration but an appeals court said the part where she gained ownership of their name wasn’t part of the purchase contract so could be tried in court rather than arbitration.
I don’t think there are any real good guys here.
Sounds like a shitty selling technique approved by the dealer.
“Get them off the lot with the car. Whatever happens after that is not our concern.”
Well, maybe not your concern but it is your approved policy not to care about the customer after they drive off the lot. So, shitty dealer. But I repeat myself.
It at least sounds better than shooting suspects.

Hey, you know how it looked like some idiots were trying to delegitimize women’s basketball by throwing sex toys on the court? Well, don’t worry, it may just be some crypto-bros trying to hype their meme coin. (While simultaneously trying to delegitimize women’s basketball…)

Jackelopes?
my state requires public districts to provide transport to charter/privates who both live in the district AND attend a school in the district. within the rules/walking distances laid out by the district for it’s own students and subject to scheduling. i can’t say it has been a problem but in certain cases it could be.(neighboring district nuked some start time changes across their district that were pretty popular bc they didn’t want to impact the private school bus schedule, which was bonkers to me)
Gosh, I wonder whose kids in Ohio go to private schools? Spoiler alert: elected legislation officials.
When I went to school, I took a school bus for all but 2 years. The Private school kids would use our bus, and then take a second bus from my school to their school. Very efficient. This new system seems very efficient for the very few very entitled folks.
Bussing for me, something something for thee.
Is it the case that the public districts don’t want to spend money on transporting their own students while they have no choice but to transport the private students?
