That is crazy. I had heard of that format before, but did not realize just how far the winners go.
I wonder if they sleep for a few minutes between yards? I tried to stay up 48 hour straight in college, and only made it to 45 or so before I crashed, no running involved.
This video popped up for me a while ago on this format. I had never heard of it before that. It’s a really interesting watch, and makes you really appreciate the craziness people must have to participate in this event.
Thanks, interesting video.
Winning in the 30-40 hour range is more what I would have expected.
Crazy amount of time/distance, but something I can still get my head around.
I had a time in college where I slept weird hours, and eventually went about 90-100 hours without sleep. At that point, I was cognizant but functionally wasted, not hallucinating but missing obvious things in front of me.
I can see a tiny subset of people having that weird skill to mix it with running. People be crazy.
Air Canada was good back in the day. This is just tragic.
Air Canada keeps winning all these “Airline of the Year” awards but I am skeptical. It seems to have many of these ugly incidents happening. The flight attendants on WestJet are much friendlier than AC or BA on the intercontinental flights.
They definitely seem to have had a disproportionate share of these “passenger treated especially horribly by airline” stories the last couple of years.
But are they getting a disproportionate share because media outlets are now specifically looking for them from Air Canada?
All of the North American airlines have issues at times. The question is which reports go viral.
I’m not sure what the end result was but I was on a flight last week where there was no wheelchair person meeting the plane when at least 2 people had requested one. I was one of those people and could make it to baggage claim on my own (small airport). I was too tired to wait to see what happened to the little old man. I know he could walk some bc he walked onto the plane. But he had been wheeled to the gate and I made sure he heard the announcement for pre boarding bc he was sitting by me at the departing gate.
I suppose you only need a reporter who has it in for a particular airline and reports accordingly.
I don’t know that it’s even a reporter having it in for an airline. You hear that a particular airline has misbehaved, and then your ears perk up when you hear more stories from that particular airline.
last week panera had a lawsuit bc their charged lemonade casued someone w a heart condition to have a heart attack. turns out, the 30oz lemonade has 390mg of caffeine?!?!
unrelated:
i only know that it is in Mtn Dew and you can’t just change that product!
(arguing against and also for caffeinated beverages at the same time!)
11 year old kid put in solitary confinement
What a shit state to live in.
Here’s their bullshit act-concerned-but-say-nothing-response:
This is utter bullshit:
staff at the detention center told Rincon her son was further isolated for COVID precautions.
Texas doesn’t give a flying fuck about COVID.
COVID isolation for thee, but not for me!!
The regular lemonade at Panera doesn’t have caffeine. The “charged” drinks do, that’s what the charged refers to. Seems that the fallout includes a pop up in the kiosks informing you that the charged drinks have caffeine.
