i don’t get it. She wasn’t fat or ugly or a minority. Why was she picked on?
Socially awkward kids get picked on as do LGBT kids. Not saying that either was the case here, just providing additional possible reasons for being picked on. (Not that they’re a valid reasons… there are no valid reasons. But there are invalid yet real reasons.)
I mean you can get picked on for wearing the wrong clothes or being bad in gym class or not shaving your legs or audibly farting or just about any dumb reason.

Well, sure, the job description may be different but I was more going for authoritarian figure in a small community punishing teenagers for dancing using the bible as justification.

Although I do not disagree with the premise that public school principals should be disciplining students based on biblical standards.
2 Samuel 6:14 although he was wearing that time’s version of underwear. It was a whole thing. His wife was super embarrassed. “What will the neighbors think?” 
There’s a lot of really surprising stuff in the Bible.
