not this time
separately, somebody is leaving mutilated animals over in Putnam County by one of the lakes
great, we’re going to have a serial killer in a few years
Not just regular coyote predation? Sometimes folks mistake selective organ nibbling as mutilation. Is that possible?
….no, as cardboard boxes and plastic bags were also involved
Investigators at the time noted that some of the animals had been drained of blood, and items described as possible ritual artifacts were recovered, raising concerns the killings could be ritualistic in nature.
Darn coyotes and their sloppy lack of recycling.
well, that’s more than a little messed up
Driver Falls Asleep For Six Miles Before Deputy Fire Chief Intervenes On I-684 In Westchester
A quick-thinking fire official may have prevented a serious crash on Interstate 684 in Westchester County after encountering a driver who appeared to be asleep behind the wheel for a several-mile stretch.
Golden’s Bridge Deputy Fire Chief Robert Melillo, a 38-year veteran of the department, was driving northbound on Interstate 684 earlier this week when another driver flagged him down, warning that something was wrong with a driver ahead.
Melillo soon spotted the vehicle — a Honda HR-V — traveling slowly and erratically, inconsistent with the flow of traffic. He immediately contacted Westchester County’s emergency dispatch center to request State Police assistance while continuing to track the vehicle’s movements.
As he pulled alongside the car, Melillo activated his emergency lights and sirens in an effort to get the driver’s attention. When he looked inside, he saw the driver slumped over with her face pressed against the window.
It wasn’t me.
I drive a Dodge Grand Caravan.
Oh jeez, I’ve been by that house. I didn’t know Pete Davidson lived there.

There is so much mystery surrounding North Salem’s herimitress Sarah Bishop. She lived in a rock ledge overhang (Not a cave - See picture) located between the Mountain Lakes Park property and the border of Ridgefield/Lewisboro. Much of her life is a mystery. As the story goes, British privateers (pirates) burned down her parental home and took her on board their ship as slave. At some point, an officer on the ship married her which likely gave her a degree of protection and status. Unfortunately, this didn’t last long. Her husband died leaving her vulnerable and led her to plot an escape. During a dark night while the ship was docked off Norwalk she swam ashore and eventually found her way to our area. (It is assumed she spent around 2 years aboard the ship in total)
For 30 years Sarah lived off the land. She ate native roots, planted a garden and a small orchard. She endured all the seasons, including winter which we know can be brutal. During the American Revolution there is an account from local officers who encountered her. They wrote that she “wore rags” and “ate barely any flesh” (meat). Another local resident during that time recorded he saw her with the finest silk that Salem has ever seen. Sarah was very religious and changed into her church dresses once a week, sporting seemingly expensive garments. She was extremely reclusive other than attending church services.
Sarah’s death remains a mystery. One report tells a story that neighbors offered her a place to stay the night during a bad snowstorm, but that she refused and was found deceased after the storm passed. Another story suggests that her remains were found in the spring or early summer with her feet trapped in the ground upright (where she likely had frozen during winter).
The last mystery is where Sarah is buried. Her remains are buried in the June Road Cemetery, but nobody knows where. Today the headstone of Sarah Bishop is placed in a reclusive spot, away from other graves in the Cemetery, that seems fitting for someone who wanted to be left alone.
Note: she wasn’t the -only- hermit in our area
I mean, that’s just a film shoot near Central Park, which isn’t exactly the same thing as freezing to death in the woods out in the country
