What if you’re left handed?
Believe it or not, also jail
What if you’re left handed?
Believe it or not, also jail
This is the sort of collective social paranoia that killed the left
100% no doubt deliberate.
In sports there is something similar, in which a player will give a cheap shot (like stomping on a player in soccer or football, or elbow to the head in hockey or basketball) and then the excuse is they didn’t mean to, it was completely accidental. Lots of their supporters will defend them, saying accidents happen. It’s complete BS. These athletes use their bodies everyday and know exactly what they are doing. It’s their jobs.
Back to Elon. He talks to crowds all the time. He’s facing cameras all the time. He knows exactly what he is doing. Whether he’s doing it to troll, to win a bet, to signal to the Proud Boys, or to create momentum for Naziism I don’t know. Not good regardless.
Was it like this when Werner was in charge
Well, it seems to have worked out well for the right.
My guess is random troll job. I think of Musk as less like a nazi and more like a fulltime edgelord.
Not really any different than a teen giving a nazi salute at graduation.
Interesting article . . . from a UK source
Is Elon Musk autistic? Does the Tesla CEO have autism as he responds to Nazi salute video
As someone who is autistic, a) I believe Musk is also autistic, and b) the fact that this is even being brought up in context with his Nazi salute pisses me off. Nothing about being autistic makes one make a Nazi salute.
One of the ways that my aspieness manifests is that I sometimes have to engage in conscious thought to consider the social norms in a situation…and if I am overly excited, I don’t always engage that conscious thought before acting or speaking. Thus part of my masking is an avoidance of getting overly excited.
I can accept aspieness as an explanation for why Elmo didn’t restrain himself from making that gesture. It’s not an explanation for why he was inclined to make that particular gesture in the first place.
One thing musk is good at is “marketing”, or impacting public opinion. He didn’t do much engineering-wise at any of his companies, and his management is… better in its absence. But he made electric cars cool. (Remember when they were compared to golf carts?) He got contracts for SpaceX.
I think he intentionally made a gesture that is almost-but-not-quite-a-Nazi-salute for the purpose of trolling the libs. To normalize the upcoming real acts of the government he bought.
I don’t even understand what to make of the Tesla factory. Is it pro-Elon? Anti-Elon? Pro-Nazi? Anti-Nazi? Something else?
It seems pro… something, but I’m not quite sure what. But if they meant it in a trolly way then maybe not?
That’s more confusing to me than the original gesture. (Which given that he’s not denying the Nazi connection or apologizing for it, I think we can safely assume was deliberate.)
Pretty sure it is intended as a wake-up call to Germans who haven’t been paying attention to the resurgence of the far-right in their country.
Nazis will of course think it’s unironic praise of Musk, but hopefully that has a negligible effect.
Here is the relevant quote from the article.
Two left-wing activist groups, Led By Donkeys from the United Kingdom and Germany’s Center for Political Beauty, claimed responsibility for the projection on X, formerly Twitter.
People aren’t waking up, and I don’t expect that to change anytime soon. The problem is the current right wing groups (in the US) are targeting illegal immigrants from central America who do not have a right to be here, so consequences are OK (did something wrong, punishment is justified, cause largely Christian views) compared with the broad targeting of very specific groups by Nazis in the 1930s. Lets ignore the broad commonalities of then and now, that is enough of a difference for most people to put that all on ignore.
I just threw up in my mouth a little. He thinks that’s funny?!?!
AOC (maybe twig will appreciate it):
The New York Democratic representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez criticized the ADL’s refusal to condemn the gesture, saying: “Just to be clear, you are defending a Heil Hitler salute that was performed and repeated for emphasis and clarity. People can officially stop listening to you as any sort of reputable source of information now. You work for them. Thank you for making that crystal clear to all.”
Nazis and lib-tear drinkers:
Meanwhile, far-right figures have rejoiced in the salute, with Christopher Pohlhaus, the leader of the neo-Nazi group Blood Tribe writing on Telegram: “I don’t care if this was a mistake. I’m going to enjoy the tears over it,” the Rolling Stone first reported.
Similarly, Andrew Torba, founder of the far-right social media platform Gab, said: “Incredible things are happening already.”
When you’re that rich and powerful, people give you a lot of leeway and excuse your behavior. “He’s just being silly!” … “It’s just locker room talk”.
Good lord, typical bs.
