MY guess is most of you won’t like this… whatever. This is what I like. Regional. Raucous. Raw.

On the fishing with nerds discord server, it shows the spotify sets of some of the students. Occassionally ill have a listen. A lot of garbage, the odd find.

All I could think was “don’t cover the top of the microphone like that!”. It made me look to see if he really does that live. Yeah, he does, but not quite as bad. On a BBC video, they put a big-*ss windscreen on his mike so he couldn’t.

John C. Reilly and Jack White of course I clicked the link.

very “Ballroom Blitz” feel.

Weird Al’s bass player has some skillz.

I think the backup band has been the unsung heroes of Weird Al’s career. Seems like whatever parody they play they do it virtually as good as the original, which essentially makes it easy to participate in the parody-ness. Otherwise we’d get caught up thinking about how it’s too fast or slow, not the right beats, or whatever. I don’t think the band gets enough love. Nice call-out.

TV shows using throwback tracks in the score has me down a rabbit hole.

The Bear S4 has a sone from Lou Reed & John Cale (from Songs for Drella). So i intended to re-listen to that today but got distracted first by Reed’s New York album. Damn it’s good.

Can’t miss the message on this version.

I share this because of the top comment on the video. It also kinda rocks…

This video looks like it was filmed by an Italian director in 1982.

I bought the 45 of this about 40 years ago. When I purged all my vinyl about 10 years ago it was one of a handful that I kept.
