I went through a Sierra Hull binge a while back. I like her version of Mad World in general, but especially the solo on this version.
Autoplay gave me only the middle part today, but I found someone had stitched the parts together elsewhere. Itās the best version of Peter Gabriel doing Here Comes The Flood, bookended by the best use of Frippertronics ever, as it was on Frippās album Exposure. The Frippertronics sets the mood perfectly, Peter Gabrielās voice cracks at just the right time, and the Frippertronics at the end allow a meditation on the song.
I am liking lofi music rn (Jazz, study, oldies genres)
My SiriusXM is about to expire. I enjoyed having this for the last 6 years. it was inexpensive at $7 a month. I have muscle memory for the stations that I like in my car, TV, and phone. I like the stations. I like the DJs. The only downside is I cannot choose a single song; theyāre all playlists.
I think Spotify is my next go-to.
What is everyone using? Are there certain items that you like about the service?
Some say the end is near
Some say weāll see Armageddon soon
Certainly hope we will
I sure could use a vacation from this
Bullshit three ring circus
Sideshow of freaks
'Cause Iām praying for rain
Iām praying for tidal waves
I want to see the ground give way
I want to watch it all go down
Mom, please flush it all away
I want to see it go right in and down
I want to watch it go right in
Watch you flush it all away
Yeah, time to bring it down again
Yeah, donāt just call me pessimist
Try and read between the lines
And I canāt imagine why you wouldnāt
Welcome any change, my friend
I wanna see it come down
Bring it down, suck it down, flush it down
So I realized in a phd thesis moment that Tom Waits is to music what Roald Dahl is to childrens books.
this is an instrument called a ālumatoneā, it has more steps per octave than the traditional A-A#-B-B#⦠of much of Western music. Leads to some interesting feels at times. I enjoyed this piece, blending jazzy and atmospheric / celestial vibes.
