Music All you fun king funking lovers love

I might like Tarantino but sometimes you have to wonder

I guess I posted this before. Ever wore a balaclava and done something illegal? I have.

Oh fuck Iā€™m off on a TISM run. Bet ya havenā€™t heard this version.

Aside: Depp owned the bar River Phoenix O.D. in and then stmbled out of and an died in front of. He was ā€œpartyingā€ with the RHCP. Life is full of shit, the only way to defend it, is to become it.

It took me years to appreciate years, decades? to appreciate Lou Reed. This cover kicks it.

Iā€™m trying to tell you something 'bout my life
Maybe give me insight between black and white
And the best thing you ever done for me
Is to help me take my life less seriously
Itā€™s only life after all, yeah

Well, darkness has a hunger thatā€™s insatiable
And lightness has a call thatā€™s hard to hear
And I wrap my fear around me like a blanket
I sailed my ship of safety till I sank it
Iā€™m crawling on your shores

And I went to the doctor, I went to the mountains
I looked to the children, I drank from the fountains
Thereā€™s more than one answer to these questions
Pointing me in a crooked line
And the less I seek my source for some definitive
(The less I seek my source)
Closer I am to fine, yeah
Closer I am to fine, yeah

And I went to see the doctor of philosophy
With a poster of Rasputin and a beard down to his knee
He never did marry or see a B-grade movie
He graded my performance, he said he could see through me
I spent four years prostrate to the higher mind
Got my paper and I was free

And I went to the doctor, I went to the mountains
I looked to the children, I drank from the fountains
Thereā€™s more than one answer to these questions
Pointing me in a crooked line
And the less I seek my source for some definitive
(The less I seek my source)
Closer I am to fine, yeah
Closer I am to fine, yeah

I stopped by the bar at 3 A.M.
To seek solace in a bottle or possibly a friend
And I woke up with a headache like my head against a board
Twice as cloudy as Iā€™d been the night before
And I went in seeking clarity

I went to the doctor, I went to the mountains
I looked to the children, I drank from the fountains
We go to the doctor, we go to the mountains
We look to the children, we drink from the fountain
Yeah, we go to the Bible, we go through the workout
We read up on revival, we stand up for the lookout

Thereā€™s more than one answer to these questions
Pointing me in a crooked line
And the less I seek my source for some definitive
(The less I seek my source)
Closer I am to fine
Closer I am to fine
Closer I am to fine, yeah

Got a bunch of their songs on my playlist now, based on your rec. Welcome fellow kids. Also forwarded it to an artsy friend of mine who owns a chaise lounge. Like wtf, do you sit? Do you lay down? What am I supposed to do here?

Re the cranberries, I had a prof that played the cranberries before lectures ( per wet leg, I went to college and got my degree lol). He stopped class the day the lead singer died. That guy was the only thing that made econ 101 bearable.

Lou doesnā€™t do the vocals on the Velvet Underground versions of Oh Sweet Nuthinā€™, but itā€™s still a great song and I do like the Black Crowes cover. Loved the VU back in college and wore out several of their albums. But I think this might be my favorite Lou Reed solo work.

I love this. I went on a Rory quest a few years ago trying to find everything he had done. His live stuff is amazing. This is a great video of why I love Rory. He plays with passionate abandon.

See. This is what I mean. I ignored him for so long and this is brilliant. A single human simply canā€™t listen to all the great music that is out there. Love this.

I love music. Hereā€™s some dudeā€™s on a talk show.

One of the weapons that made Letterman great was the amazing connections Paul Shafer had in the music industry.
