While there has been a shift in general political attitudes since the last election, I don’t know that the shift has occurred deep enough into the red- or red-leaning portion of the population for primarying Dear Leader’s loyalists to be an effective strategy.
I’m actually more concerned about what happens on the blue side. Will some viable blue candidates be challenged by and possibly lose primaries to candidates who are far enough left to discourage purple voters who might otherwise be inclined to vote blue?
(My blue congressman, who hasn’t had an effective challenger in primaries or the general election since he was elected too-many years ago, looks to be in a four-way primary race. If this weren’t a deep blue district / if the Connecticut GOP weren’t incompetent…)
“We found the hack for McCarthyism to succeed: All we have to do is when they ask, 'Until this moment, MAGA, I think I never really gauged your cruelty or your recklessness. Let us not assassinate the character of half the nation further, MAGA. You have done enough. Have you no sense of decency?” We reply, ‘No, we don’t.’"

Currently at a science conference in Europe. Was having dinner with some colleagues, one of whom is associated with the org’s science journal. He was having a meeting with some of the journal editors at the conference and had made some “make peer review great again hats” (not red). The American members of the group were upset/afraid about the hats and refused to wear them. They were scared they might lose their jobs if the wrong people saw a picture of them wearing their hats.
