CBS has hired their new ombudsman whose role it is to ensure that their news coverage is neutral and unbiased. His qualifications for being independent include donating money to the RNC, earmarked for the Trump campaign, and a nomination by Trump to be ambassador to Japan.

Federal troops headed to another city.
Tennessee has and R trifecta in the state gov’t. It seems that the governor could use the Tennessee national guard if he deems that city police can’t maintain order.
I suppose he is normalizing National Guard in cities. DC is a special case, so this is an easy next step.
The state gov’t isn’t going to push back on Trump.

I hated Berkeley. When I was there, everything was very focused on funding and not having a reasonable academic environment. Not surprised that it has deteriorated further to a place where they feel a need to suck up to the admin over money.
That’s really disappointing. I’ve been stunned at how weak the response has been from big universities. They all seem to be hunkering down and just waiting for someone else to step up.
Harvard is caving big time behind the scenes, and has killed a bunch of stuff for queer and minority students.
