This is why its a bad idea to make deals with Trump and his blackmail.
His attempt at blackmailing the legal firms was blatantly unconstitutional, and the firms that decided to make a deal with him will now suffer financial damage as clients will not be hiring them for sensitive work (because they clearly cannot be trusted with the work)
Someone posted here that some Georgetown Law students are gathering a list of law firms and their cowardice, so students can decide for themselves whether to take internships with them or not.
One of the few legal firms with an actual backbone that said no to Trump was from the UK (Freshfields) and they are now seeing huge demand for their services as clients are porting over their accounts to them from other firms.
There is no middle ground left anymore. Either you fight back and retain your reputation for due process and the rule of law, or you become a collaborator that is feeding the actions of the Trump regime.
Bipartisan House and Senate Leaders Urge White House to Restore Spending Website
In the latest chapter in a battle over spending powers, lawmakers charged that the administration removed crucial information in violation of the law. The White House argues the data shouldn’t be public. …
The website in question was required by Congress in 2022 and is intended to provide current information about where federal dollars are going to make sure that spending is in line with congressional directives and that agencies are not spending inappropriately.
Though the website was established during the Biden administration, its origin was in part the result of the Trump administration’s decision to withhold some congressionally approved aid for Ukraine during Mr. Trump’s first term.
