Update to my last update: Maybe-Jeeves is back hounding the lady I gave the trap to for food. COME ON JEEVESIE GET IN THERE.
This maybe-my-cat continues to thwart all attempts to capture. But is it my cat? Should I just camp in this ladies yard for a week or what?!
Ask the people who moved into your old house if they are also seeing this possible-Jeeves, and maybe set up a trap there?
The neighbors are on the lookout already, but in any event, he’s not interested in getting caught in our trap. Lady told me he looks right at it but refuses to go in.
That picture definitely looks like him though, even more than the first.
Here’s a pic of Jeeves getting eaten by the couch for comparison:
Warning Dad-joke* ahead…
If daughter’s cat, μ, should run away and we go out and search for it, “Did you catch μ?” will have a double meaning.
*not necessarily a joke, but definitely from a dad.
Go study.
I love this kitten so much it hurts.
Hahaha yeah, that is my Bert in meme form.
I had the dog version of this with playing fetch last night.
I think that’s Marcie’s dog. Mine will drop the ball but will do so somewhere I’m not. I put in a light to illuminate much of the backyard so I can play with her when it’s dark. But instead of bringing me the ball where I’m standing in the light, she drops it 20 feet away in the shadows on the other side of the swing set and stares at me in anticipation.
I am worried we might have to put our disabled kitty down in the middling future.
She could probably live a long time. With almost no function in her back legs and peeing on herself frequently, especially if we leave for more than a half-day.
She loves cuddles (we do bathe her when she gets it on her and thoroughly clean up her pee which is on hard surfaces only) and she has so much vitality in her, but she just can’t move well. Jumping onto a couch is absolutely out of the question, when she occasionally falls down the stairs she can’t get up. It’s frustrating. We love her to death but having her pee every 1-2 days on the floor can’t go on for another ~10 years.
I specially made a low-profile litter box for her even, and filled it with paper litter instead of clumping so she’ll stop sitting in it and getting UTIs, but she just falls wherever and decides that’s good.
How old is kitty and how did she lose motor function in her hind legs?
If she has no chance of recovery it is best to put her down - although it is tough to go through with I believe it is better for the owner and for the kitty
About 7 years old. She has an undiagnosable degenerating neurological condition. I don’t know, kitty ALS or something? Nobody knows. We’ve been told we could pay thousands and transport her a few hundred miles to potentially (unlikely) get her diagnosed and then probably there would be no known cure. She has a spinal-renal stent (artery between her spleen and kidneys) that should not exist and that’s also thousands to figure out whether it actually is doing anything.
Fucking dammit, #1 and #2 on the floor just in the last 30 minutes. Her box has a 1" clearance and I’ve set her in it multiple times today. And now it’s bathtime again.
Wiped/picked up, cleaner is down, going to have to mop again. Waiting for the bath to cool down, drew it too hot.
