Get a blacklight and check. She may be doing it in an area where you have not yet noticed. I thought it was contained to one room that our other car peed in during a urinary tract infection, but found it in several other areas.
They’re so cute when they’re not being crazy
FYI, I highly recommend you still use a shitton of enzymatic cleaner and pat it dry best you can BEFORE using a hot machine cleaner. Same concept as not using hot water to wash something like blood out of clothes, it kind of locks it in if you didn’t sufficiently get it out first. And if they’ve gotten through the carpet into the subfloor you’re in for a renovation, but that should only happen if they’re really problem kitties that aren’t taking to the box at all.
This makes me glad I don’t have a cat.
Pets and carpet won’t get along at some point in the pet’s life, well at least for the 4 legged ones that roam around the house.
Carpet is disgusting in general. Even “clean” carpet, when ripped out, is hiding all sort of gunk below it.
How have I forgotten about this thread for 5 months? Keep the pictures coming!
If I had a blacklight this place would look like a Jackson Pollock painting.

They are so fricken adorable!!! ![]()
Is there a kitten that’s an absolute glutton and steals his siblings food?
Yep. Carpet eventually gets nasty and pets make it happen a lot faster.
My current house only has carpet on the stairs, upstairs hallway, and guest bedroom. The pets aren’t allowed in the guest bedroom and that room gets little traffic, so that carpet will be good for a while. I may rip out the carpet on the stairs and hallway eventually and get those floors refinished.
The glutton that steals the other’s food is definitely Mama. The little stripy girl there is actually a light eater and a lot smaller in weight than the rest. I’m gonna miss these gals (and Ears, who’s a dude).
Our oldest is allowing the two new to get close, but not too close. If they get closer, she stands up, stretches, and moves 6 inches. ![]()
This smol bean has been permanently attached to me since the moment we got home from dropping off her last sibling at the adoption center (yesterday). She is aggressively needy rn - kneading in my lap, staring into my eyes, HUGE purrs. My own husband doesn’t even love me this much. It’s nice until I have to do anything like go to the bathroom or move in any way.
How could you even want to do anything besides sit and hold the darling?

Yeah, I had a lot of plans to clean and deodorize the house this (long) weekend that didn’t exactly materialize. I have to work at an actual desk today just to keep kitten and keyboard separate, but my legs are intermittently going numb.
I was amazed to see our loaf cat on the bed with one of the new babies, and then I moved his butt to touch her butt and she didn’t smack me, but she was giving him dirty looks ![]()
