Quick Summary:
:oh_noes: :oh_noes:
:oh_noes: :oh_noes:

Happy Monday, everyone! Looks like some of y’all are starting off the week pretty strong, especially those in the Ted_Hoffman region, where both games went 3 throws! :open_mouth: If that’s how they’re starting the week, where will they end up!

Meanwhile, Rock was winner in all the one-throw matches this update. (Hmmm… now that I’ve pointed that out, will that affect what throws are submitted? Then again, if folks realize their opponents are gonna adjust their throws, maybe they’ll counter-adjust, which’ll be a smart move, unless they don’t account for those who counter-counteradjust… :exploding_head: ).

No  matches at the moment, though VA did manage to put the :broom: away and live to see another day… but there’s still more work to be done there if VA wants to advance.

Keep those throws coming! :+1:

Quick Qummary:
:skull_and_crossbones:
:oh_noes: :oh_noes:

We’ve got a variety pack in the updates, which reminds us there’s two ways to get off the :oh_noes: cliff - make it a  match, or fight valiantly to no avail. NumericalNeuroticism took the former route, forcing a Winner-Take-All Game 7 with CindyLouWho, whereas VA took the latter, thus allowing OldTimer to become our first member of the Elite Eight!

Keep those throws coming! :+1:

Thanks VA. I thought you had me right where you wanted me.

This is the furthest I’ve ever gone on a GoA game.

Thanks, @OldTimer. It was fun. It was real.

But somehow not quite funnily surreal.

By that measure, it’ll also be the longest you’ve ever been in a GoA game because

:hourglass_not_done:

Am I ever going to get another play? :old_woman:

It’s April and I haven’t played yet.

Quick Summary:
:skull_and_crossbones:

What’s that? We’re outta :oh_noes: at this point? Interesting… that means either the cliff-dweller pulled their opponent up with them (and thus a ), or less favorably didn’t survive (though in this case our :skull_and_crossbones: was due to a  match).

Breaking down the action by region:

  • In the soyleche region, Breadmaker has battled back from a 3-1 deficit to tie it all up, bringing us to our first Winner Take All Game 7 in this update, with a spot in the Sweet Sixteen on the line.
  • In the SteveGrondin region, SteveGrondin continues a strong defense of the region, jumping out to a quick 2-0 lead. Meanwhile, our  match here lived up to expectations, needing three throws just to wrap things up, but in the end NumericalNeuroticism eked out the win over CindyLouWho and takes the 14th seat in the Sweet Sixteen. Well played, both of you! :+1:
  • In the Ted_Hoffman region, our back-and-forth match between AbstractActuary and Actuary321 has gone the distance, coming to another Winner Take All Game 7, again with a spot in the Sweet Sixteen on the line!
  • Finally, in the skys93 region, it’s as tight as you can get, with both matches at 2-2, including a four throw match between JFG and WishBear - they’re definitely reading each other well in that one!

As you can see, it’s an exciting time in the tourney right now, so stay tuned, and keep those throws coming! :+1:

… and we kick off Friday with a variety pack for your enjoyment!

Starting with the :skull_and_crossbones: , we have now determined our 15th entrant into the Sweet Sixteen, as a decisive one-throw Game 7 was all Breadmaker needed to complete a 3-1 comeback against SteveWhite to advance in the tourney! Again, another exciting match to follow - well done! :+1:

Meanwhile, both :oh_noes: involve our regional titleholders, but in different ways: soyleche is now potentially one throw away from advancing to the Elite Eight, whereas skysn93 is one throw away from being the first regional titleholder to be eliminated! :open_mouth:

Finally, we’ve got half the throws in the  match that will determine the final entrant into the Sweet Sixteen - could we find out who that is today? Stay tuned to find out! :+1:

Funny that the “last entrant” to the Sweet 16 brackets has “Actuary” in their ID . . .

Congratulations Breadwinner. Thanks UA

You mean I win? Because my opponent only has “Act” in their ID, right?

Good game! Best of luck going forward!
