Looks like abortion is about to get outlawed across America

Despite winning a plurality of the popular vote in just one of the past 8 elections Republicons have managed to hold the Presidency for 12 of the past 30 years. They were able to install 5 justices and obstruct one in those 12 years. The last 3 of which were highly political appointments.

Add in the over $250M spent by dark money outfits to pack the court with right wing justices at the federal level and it’s had to call the court an impartial caller of balls and strikes.

Obviously IANAL, but I remember reading Roe and some legal opinions on it. I don’t think this is as true as some anti-Roe people want you to believe.

This is every decision ever.

People say that about gay marriage and interracial marriage as well. I disagree there too.

Doubt it. Even when the Dems had a 60 vote majority for 4 months in 2009 they weren’t able to codify Roe.

Or that one party has decided that stopping the other party from passing any meaningful legislation is essentially their entire platform.

The Kavanagh appointment was terrible because it was so clearly partisan. He has a history of being a partisan agent.

Times have changed pretty rapidly in the last few decades on what’s acceptable to ask in an interview. I heard of one actuarial employer that was very known for flat out asking people interviewed if they were jewish because this particular person only wanted to hire Jews. This was the early 00’s or so. My friend said she wasn’t jewish, but her husband was. apparently that was good enough.

I doubt that would fly these days.

It makes lunch or dinner awkward at interviews, many times it is less formal, a get to know you chat, but you need to be aware of asking about spouse or kids

My first job was a very Jewish, very orthodox group. The manager felt they were very studious with no social life and make good students

The company where I first worked in P&C had been a WASP place. Up through the 60s, I’m told, or maybe the 70s, they only hired WASPs. No Jews, no Catholics, none of those suspicious people from other parts of Europe, and certainly not anyone who wasn’t of European background.

I didn’t know that history when they hired me, of course. And (at least in the actuarial department) it had obviously changed. But in retrospect, it was awfully white for a large employer in NYC.

that would so creep me out.

now that would creep me out. not sure it would have over 20 years ago when this dude was doing it.

Because he didn’t want to repeat Ginsburg’s mistake of trying to hold out for the next time the Dems controlled both the White House and the Senate.

The Kavanaugh appointment was terrible because he had a history of certain views on Presidential immunity from legal challenges at a time when we had a President in need of such immunities…and because he was rather public about his “entitlement” to that position trumping the need for SCOTUS justices’ characters to be unquestioned.

Well that and he was a drunken partisan hack too boot who may or may not have been a bit too handsy in his youth.

Having grown up in Utah, I heard about places that would only hire BYU graduates. It was a way to get around having to ask people if they were LDS.

or conversely, reject anyone from BYU

If you didn’t get the job you probably could have.

But I don’t blame you for not wanting to.

I have a couple of past employers I probably could have sued, but especially early in your career who wants that? Who’s going to want to hire the chick that sues her employers? I didn’t want that hanging over my head.

Exactly. I wanted to be able to work as an actuary a lot more than i wanted that job. Or compensation for not getting that job.

You can also file a reimbursement claim. HSA card is the easiest way to go.

One party fell asleep at the switch, distracted by relatively irrelevant identify politics and nonsense ivory tower concepts, while their party was overrun by fascist Neocons.

In the time it took me to type this post, Neocons sent another $10 billion to Ukraine while needy Americans get nothing.

Biden’s Disinformation Governance Board is currently reviewing this message for misinformation, and the EU’s Chat Control AI is reviewing it for various illiberal thought (except Neocon stuff).

Gotta watch those endpoints. Republicans won a plurality of the POTUS votes in 5 of the 6 elections prior to your endpoint. That would give them 6 of the previous 14. That seems much more reasonable doesn’t it?

The same would have to be said of Elena Kagan. Any problems with her nomination?

The year is 2025. Somewhere in America, a young lady becomes pregnant. After her initial disappointment at the implications of not being able to produce powerpoint decks full-time, she breathes a heavy sigh of relief. Thanks to the morally superior liberals in her country, all she has to do is head down to the local Satanist Temple abortion clinic for her abortion. Everyone in 2025 America knows that liberals are the good guys.

I suspect you don’t realize that you’re being trolled by TST through Fox.
I suspect you don’t realize that mothers make PowerPoints.
I suspect you are pretty easy to manipulate, in general, because you want to believe certain things.
