Looks like abortion is about to get outlawed across America

Reminds me of a line from a Criminal Minds episode. (1 guy to another) “We were teenagers. We could practically get it up for a can of tomato soup.”

there are so many frustrated non-gays at school too, and they have 95% of the population to pick among (or be chosen by). gay kids, out or not, have a brutal numbers game.

Look, I’m just an actuary who spends my spare time defending the wrongly accused. I leave all the names of laws to the paralegals to go research and find, I don’t have time to do all of that myself.

You do know there are plenty of us whose HS crushes DID want to have sex, and we did say no, right?

i’m not sure what i would have done if my band teacher who i had a huge crush on wanted to have sex.

enjoy it, just don’t revenge sue when you grow up

i told a bunch of crazy pro-lifers that i’m getting a bunch of spite abortions cause i live in new york and i can.

at least one idiot seems to believe me and is going off on me and saying serial killers like me is why they are working so hard to outlaw abortion.

we are dealing with idiots here who believe spite abortions are a thing who are pushing the outlaw of abortions.

A lot of girls in my small town high school had a crush on the science teacher. He reciprocated by getting one of them pregnant (she was 17 so not underage). They got married and kept the baby. Didn’t take long for the teenage crush to wear off and she left him after a few years.

did he lose his job? legal or not based on age, that doesn’t sound legal with him being her teacher.

To be fair, many marriages don’t last long regardless of the circumstances

Yes, he was dismissed but I think he moved to another school district and got a new position: high school science teachers were a valuable commodity in the 1960’s. I think he should have rotted in hell for dating one of his high school students because of the trust and power dynamics. She may have even been underage when the relationship started.

Most states have a minimum marriage age for minors with parental consent, ranging from 12-17 years old. However, California and Mississippi do not have minimum ages for minors to be allowed to marry with parental consent. Massachusetts has the lowest minimum marriage age with parental consent of 14 years old for boys and 12 years old for girls.

sounds like her parents needed to consent to the marriage depending

True, but that was all they crossed

In Ontario, where my high school was, the legal marrying age was 16 but parental consent was required under age 18. Thus her parents would have had to give permission for their daughter to marry her high school teacher. That consent would not have been given if I had been the parent but I would have supported my 17 year old daughter with any other option that she selected.

Can’t speak for 1960’s Canada . . . but much of rural 1960’s US would’ve seen a shotgun wedding in that case.

if i had a 16 year old who got pregnant by her teacher, i’d highly encourage her to get an abortion. would certainly not give her permission to get married.

The shotgun wedding was indeed the norm where I grew up (and there were a lot of them!) but I personally did not share the views of my community. Certainly by the time I had a 17 year old daughter her mother and I would have preferred she have an abortion in the given situation but we would have (reluctantly) also supported her decision to keep the child or put it up for adoption.

I didn’t talk to many girls about this back in HS, so no, I didn’t know this. I’m not sure I knew any people who would have said no.

Excuse me sir. Are you implying that a boy who group up to be an actuary wasn’t slaying it in HS? Impossible! Although I’m thinking things werent as bad as you are implying.

That might be because you think women have value beyond being wives and mothers.
