Last movie you've watched

if not a spoiler,

is it a prequel
is Wolverine brought back to life or
did Wolverine never die

Figured it might be something like, but after i had an imagination attack.
Spoiler alert: you don’t turn out well.

Deadpool and Wolverine at the theater. Wolverine in this version is from a different timeline *the multiverse at work). This film relies very heavily on the first season of Loki. Laughed throughout, but not a very good movie. Fun, but kind of dull, unless you like seeing Ryan and Hugh “knife” each other all over their bodies repeatedly. Wears thin. Tons of interesting shout outs through out, lots of cameos. The shout out to Stan Lee was well done.

Would like to find a free channel to rewatch All The President’s Men. Hard to believe it will be 50 years next week since (expletive deleted) Nixon resigned.

I think i saw it on HBO back then.

Good, as we have HBO (primarily for John Oliver’s show). Canadian offerings are sometimes different than the US ones but will look for ATPM the next time we are watching HBO.

do yiu have Pluto?

Nope, never heard of it

Pluto was very good Anime series. It’s on Netflix in US, I don’t know if is on Canada platform but if Cooke is looking for it that would be first place to check.

IFYP (although only really works with an Australian accent).

No luck finding All The President’s Men on a streaming service. Probably will just get a DVD from the local library if my DVD player still works.

Deadpool & Wolverine - I enjoyed it and will hopefully see again in the theater.

“The Lady Vanishes” (1938) on TCM via Max.
Early Hitchcock film. Interesting, a bit predictable.

Need a movie about this Math Nerd:

Borderlands at the theater. I guess this is based on a video game. Never seen or heard of it before. Went for the cast and base don the trailer. No idea how true it is to the game, but I really enjoyed it, although lots of parts didn’t make a ton of sense. Never really thought of Cate Blanchett as an action star, but she did a good job. There was a lot of appropriation from other movies/franchises, but I guess that is getting harder to avoid.

Mad Dogs & Englishmen (1971)

The Joe Cocker movie

Deadpool & Wolverine - it was about what you’d expect. Silly irrelevant joke. Gratuitous violence with over the top blood. A lot of Deadpool and Wolverine fighting each other. Many cameos from both the marvel and Fox cinematic universe on the comics turned movies. It wasn’t a great movie and the plot was lacking but it fun diverting 2 hours with Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman.

White Witch Doctor (1953) - Susan Hayward, Robert Mitchum, African dances

Palm Springs on Hulu. I liked it. Andy Samberg annoys me in general, but was ok here. But Cristin Milioti very much carried the movie, imo. It’s a variation on Groundhog Day.
