This is on Mini Me’s list. We loved the first Inside Out movie. She’s already seen it with her dad but she wants to see it with BF and me so we will make that happen.
Actually she sort of does. She told me she wants to marry the boy down the street and he told his dad (who told his mom who told me) that he wants to marry her. He had planned out what they would wear for the wedding and where they were going to live.
And like… I’m fine with that. He tells a few too many fart jokes for my taste, but it’s possible he’ll grow out of that.
STBX was, at one point, panicking and demanding that we formulate a plan NOW to ensure that they don’t have sex as teenagers.
Which… yeah, good luck with that. I mean where there’s a will there’s a way. They might not even be interested in each other at that point and if they are… best we can do is stave off the inevitable.
(No, they won’t be allowed to be in a bedroom with a closed door or anything, but they are not stupid individuals and neither child is going to be locked up for the entirety of high school.)
Last movie I haven’t watched is furiosa. I want to watch it, but I begrudge paying 25 bucks for it. It’s a stupid objection, I’ll easily pay 25 bucks for entertainment. Heck I’ll pay that for a book without a second thought.
My current strategy is to complain about the cost long enough that it becomes available on Netflix for free.
Noted… well it will be up to Mini Me whether that’s a dealbreaker or not! At the moment she seems to share his childish sense of humor, which is only fair since they are children whose ages are still one digit long.
Fly Me to the Moon at the theater. Stars Scar Jo and Channing Tatum. Maybe based on a bit of a true story about the first moon landing. NASA needed to get the public re-energized about the landing prior to Apollo 10. The brought in a ad exec from NYC (Scar Jo) to work with the Tatum to promote the missions. They got ads with the astronauts endorsing various products. Step in Woody Harrelson as a CIA/FB/NSA type guy who wanted to stage the whole landing. Funnier than I expected and pretty well done. Would recommend.
Watched first “Deadpool.” Not sure if I need to watch anymore. New movie with Wolverine got panned by the LA Times today. I can wait to watch it for no extra charge on Hulu eventually.
I haven’t read the reviews. My son is a huge Marvel fan and Deadpool in particular he saw it opening night and said it was great. His sister who is not really a big fan of Marvel in general but can take it or leave it went with him, she said "It was actually pretty good."Mind you she’ll tell you if she doesn’t like a movie as she said of the last Spiderman movie we went to “that movie was horrible”.
I look forward to seeing it with my wife when she gets back from Girl Scout camp.
