Totally worth the expense on a big screen.

Boys in the boat.

Was ok i guess, would not need to watch again

I really did enjoy the movie. Good story, some great performances. The violence was cartoonish and was fine.

Curious as to why you thought I wouldn’t like the movie

The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare at the theater. Based on a true story that became available after Churchill documents were declassified in 2016. It was indicated that this was the start of covert military actions. Very well done, but it was a Guy Ritchie film so you’d expect that. Pretty violent, but it was during WW II and it was a Guy Ritchie movie. Great cast and entertaining. There was one minor character named Ian Fleming and the character played by Cary Elwes was called M. The after movie recap of the actual people portrayed in the film indicated that James Bond may have been based on one of the primary characters.

Godzilla x King Kong (2024) son wanted to see this. Standard monster movie, well done for what it was but not nearly as good as Godzilla Minus One

The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare

3*

I liked it. I generally like most of director Guy Ritchie’s movies. I think of him as the British Quentin Tarantino, and I mean that as a compliment. In fact, I am going to go out and say that however much you liked QT’s Inglourious Basterds is how you will feel about TMOUW - the same style, similar feel to the movie, and even some of the same tropes. The bad guy Nazi seemed to engender a lot of Christopher Walts’s Hans Landa, and there’s a scene where a spy has given herself away by a minute detail.

The casting was a little odd. There’s a bunch American actors who had quite a hard time with believable English accents. Eiza Gonzalez is absolutely stunning as a femme fatale, but she’s Mexican and doesn’t seem authentic as a German-Jewish person. Alan Ricthson was in there just to be a 1942 Jack Reacher, but he is somewhat inexplicably given a bow and arrow as his weapon of choice.

Migration (Airplane) Decent enough story of a family coming together, though quite dark at times. Didn’t really like the characters. My 4yo grand daughter laughed aloud, so that is all that matters

Eh.

Griselda (Netflix) This was well done. More minimseries than movie. Sophia Vegara’s prosthetic face was a bit distracting. and based on pictures, other than being Columbian, pretty miscast physically. But I thought she did an excellent job in a dramatic role.

Star Wars: A New Hope
Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back

Both are the altered versions on Disney+

Watched The Mighty Ducks on Disney+. It was a fun family flick

Well it is the time of year for such hockey fare.
