Israel - Hamas War October 2023

This is a war to rescue hostages. I think that’s pretty clear.

Ok, why are Israeli civilians allowing their government to continue on course?

Perhaps, you’re applying a double standard here…

Not to me. Cabinet has talked about nuking Gaza. Cabinet has talked about forcing Gazans out permanently. That has nothing to do with hostages.

This has everything to do with the hostages. Or do you only think it would matter if it was your own family?

How would nuking Gaza help the hostages?

How is this helping the hostages?

Netanyahu is using the hostages as cover to do what he wants.

It probably wouldn’t. But the guy who suggested it was suspended for making those remarks, by the way. By Netanyahu.

Yeah, I’m sure he’s just thrilled that people of his country are hostages.

Right, he said the quite part loud.

There are extremists in every country. In normal countries, they are laughed at, have low support, are suspended. In bad countries, they form terrorist groups without getting arrested by their country’s police, kidnap people with no interference from the others.

By any chance, do you live in a country that did nuke over a hundred thousand civilians, not too long ago? If yes, what have you done to make that up to them?

Several hundred Palestinians have been murdered by Israeli settlers in the west bank this year alone.

Do you think all Israeli civilians are responsible for that? I don’t. But, if you think all civilians in Gaza are responsible for not freeing hostages, be aware of your double standard

I don’t take your premise as true. There are a lot of biased news sources out there and if you’re getting your news from Hamas or Hamas sympathizers I’d rethink that. But even if it were, it’s a lot easier to rescue a hostage than to stop a murder.

By any chance, are the Palestinians killed terrorists? Engaging in a riot while the Israelis tried to arrest terror suspects? And if you kill a terrorist so they can’t continue to terrorize, is that murder?

People who react based on raw emotion without taking into account the possible consequences end up paying a high price for it.

When you start indiscriminately targeting civilians “on the other side”…

Don’t be surprised when “the other side” starts targeting your own civilians any chance they get.

The consequence of the logic you are advancing is large-scale terrorism that will make the previous wars, and even the last hamas attack, seem like a picnic by comparison.

There is ample historical evidence to support this scenario.

Good luck living under that kind of scenario. Go ask the Belfast folks what that feels like.

Lol. Your tune would change so quickly if it was your kids and your country. But what else is new? Most people are only human.

I don’t think we need to ask Belfast what it feels like. Israel’s already had rockets raining down on them from Gaza for years.

Israel is not special here.

Plenty of terrorism in other countries.

So you basically have no idea as to what is going on?

This is about par for the course.

Yeah, so how often do you go into your bomb shelter in - what is it - the UK?

Look - piece of advice:

Don’t make facile and superficial conclusions about the location of a poster.

I am basically about the last person on this site that you want to go down this road with because I have lived in dozens of countries.

It’s pretty easy to see from your post history that you have the opportunity to live in the UK, which you think is a failing country because boohoo, they tax you too much. Not because of the bomb shelters.
