Israel really is quite determined to get the entire world against it.
This is going to make the countries very, very angry. War Graves (Commonwealth Countries) are treated with the utmost care all around the world.
Israeli forces have bulldozed part of a Gaza cemetery containing the war graves of dozens of British, Australian and other allied soldiers killed in the first and second world wars, satellite imagery and witness testimony reveal.
Israeli settlers kill 19-year-old Palestinian American, officials and witnesses say
Raed Abu Ali, a resident of Mukhmas, said a group of settlers came to the village Wednesday afternoon where they attacked a farmer, prompting clashes after residents intervened. Israeli forces later arrived, and during the violence armed settlers killed 19-year-old Nasrallah Abu Siyam and injured several others.
Abu Ali said that the army shot tear gas, sound grenades and live ammunition. Israelâs military acknowledged using what it called âriot dispersal methodsâ after receiving reports of Palestinians throwing rocks but denied that its forces fired during the clashes.
âWhen the settlers saw the army, they were encouraged and started shooting live bullets,â Abu Ali said. He added that they clubbed those injured with sticks after they had fallen to the ground.
Article also goes on to detail torture of Palestinian journalists never even charged with a crime.
What exactly is wrong with it? Someone who is arrested, has a trial, and is convicted of terrorism - whatâs wrong with having the death penalty for them? The US allows the death penalty for terrorism, is that also wrong?
Remember, in Gaza, if someone is suspected of working with Israel, theyâre just killed, without benefit of a trial, or any defense. Do you think thatâs ok?
The problem is the government, the same people executing the convicted terrorist, gets to define which acts are terrorism and which acts with identical results and actions are not.
So youâre not against it from a perspective of Israel vs Palestinians, youâre just opposed to the death penalty in general?
Ok, I can respect that, even if I disagree.
A new Israeli law that would allow the execution of Palestinians convicted on terror charges for deadly attacks, but not Jewish extremists accused of similar crimes, would constitute a war crime if enacted, according to one of the UNâs most senior human rights officials.
A law that allows for members of group A to be executed for a crime but doesnât allow for members of group B to be executed for the same crime is problematic. (Well, Iâm also anti-death penalty period, but unequal application of it is also abhorrent.)
US is also trash. Weâre in the process of freeing and protecting anyone who commits murder and terror in the name of Trump.
I have nothing against the death penalty, but âterrorismâ needs to be objectively defined, so it can apply to anyone of any race, gender, or ideology. Otherwise itâs just another tool of repression.
We have a good example of the problem with labeling terrorism. Two men, shot in the back Brian Thompson and Alex Pretti. I have heard both shootings described as terrorism. I think there is enough evidence to make the argument either, both, or neither are terrorism. How do we decide which shooter is a terrorist?
