It’s for profit here.
Some do prefer the ‘fighting chance’ sort of mentality. But it’s the minority. If you look at what terminal patients say they want, and then look at the outcomes, we can do a lot better.
I don’t like the idea of mandating hospice, of course.
The majority of people get it through their employer, so if their employer doesn’t offer anyone except UHC they would likely have to change jobs and hope that their new employer also doesn’t offer only UHC.
I see, that’s a problem. But yeah don’t hate the player hate the game amirite.
I mean unless the player is in charge of keeping things that way.
There are simpler ways to achieve this.
Pretty much this is what I have seen online.
The popo are saying the suspect traveled from Atlanta to NYC via bus. Looks like they know who he is, then?
Wasn’t this type of talk where Obama’s Death Panels came from?
Yeah, it does look like he’s in the dragnet now. Do you think he’s going to be taken in alive?
What I don’t understand is what he wrote on the bullets and why he wrote it. His message can’t be deduced from three words so why write them.
That is one hell of a bus ride
That bathroom probably smelled crazy after the first 12 hours
I don’t consider online comments to be news.

I never claimed it was perfect, but it would be an improvement.
Also I think you can go to any hospital for emergency care if your plan is Obamacare compliant, which it almost certainly is, so the in-network isn’t a consideration in this hypothetical.
For most people it depends on whether their employer offers multiple options and whether or not they are married.
Like not too many years ago STBX and I had like 7 choices with 3 insurers. His employer offered 3 choices with 1 insurer and my employer offered 4 choices with 2 insurers.
But I’ve also experienced having 2 choices, both with the same insurer. It would have been very expensive to go with a different insurer.
Are people who get their health plan through Medicaid, Medicare or Marketplace better off because they can choose the insurance company, vs. people who have employment based plans, where the employer chooses the insurance company?
It sort of makes me cringe when people say just give consumers more choice, and the invisible hand of the market with solve the problem. That just doesn’t really work when there is such a massive information asymmetry.
You can always eschew your employer sponsored plan and shop around for something better on the marketplace during open enrollment
I don’t think anyone hates their employer sponsored plan enough to do that unless your employer contributes absolutely or close to nothing
Well I don’t think anyone in their right mind would do that. But I do know married couples where the cost to cover your spouse was so expensive, that it made more sense for the spouse to get coverage through marketplace.
I have seen situations were moving to a new insurer would result in an undesirable change in coverage when there are special needs so they stick with a particular insurer even when changing jobs.
Apparently the guy used a fake driver’s license. He has been tracked to a hostel he went to after arriving. He put some effort in to the plot but he’s going to be found eventually. He was sloppy. Not that I support shootings.
