I went to Timmy’s today. My order came to $3.90 and I was going to pay with a $10 dollar bill. The cashier had already entered $5 for the amount tendered. She asked if I had a $5, but I did not. I exchanged my $10 for 2 $5 bills and paid her $5. Le sigh…

Now that I think of it, Dilbert obviously had $2 if he could give $7, and receive a dime and a penny in change. I don’t see how Dilbert thought this was making it easy.
Yeah, would’ve been better if it cost $6.89 and he gave them $12.14.
Doctor’s office: We wrote you a prescription for 40. You use one twice a week, so that’s a one year supply.
Ummmm…
Maybe their patients on average forget to take their pills 61.5% of the time.
Their current story is that 40 is a one year supply and I should figure out how to make it last all year.
Uh, ok, by using literally ONE THIRD what you originally told me to use!!!
Well since I screwed up and used too much and am already out they will request more if the doctor agrees.
I DIDN’T SCREW UP; I FOLLOWED DIRECTIONS!!!

Perhaps they meant to tell you 1 every 2 weeks. In any case, you should insist they clarify what the intended frequency is. Then after that (if it is still the same as what they originally told you), you can take up the question of how 40 is a one-year supply.
No, they’ve decided that I was using too much. They retracted the amount that was in the instructions.
Unless taking too much was medically harmful, sounds relatively minor, especially if this was found somewhat early. Even if the first bottle is almost gone now, you should be able to get a refill.
If an expensive prescription, and they made an error, you could suggest they provide the cost of the refill, but good luck getting them to.
Yeah the recommended dosage from what I can tell ranges from what I was actually taking to 4x what I was actually taking.
Now they’re saying I should actually have been taking 1/3 what I was taking, which is less than the lowest. But surely it’s safe to take less (since most people take none). I’m not worried about how much I’ve had so far… as long as they’ll refill it tomorrow.
They talked about how expensive it was actually (justifying the lower dosage). But my copay was in the $20s IIRC. I think STBX has pretty good insurance. Wonder what it will be under a different insurer? I’ll find out in a year, I guess.
And yeah, they obviously should reimburse me my copay and STBX’s insurer for their share. But
that’ll never happen.
I read STBX as Starbucks at first. Made more sense once adjusting.
This happens to me all the time when reading a twig post. I’m constantly wondering things like 'hmm I didn’t know Starbucks offered insurance - I wonder if their rates are competitive?"
I didn’t even know you could apply for social security benefits along with ordering your coffee. I’m still not sure which one has more complex options.
I always do.
Well with any luck there will be an STB-ectomy from his title very soon. He’s doing everything he possibly can to drag it out, but there are limits.
Is there a better way to describe him without typing it all out?
May I recommend “STB Ex”?
I’m glad I’m not the only one who read it as Starbucks. ![]()
