Hunter Biden Investigation

I might agree if Mississippi was paying for it, but the money came from the federal government. If you are taking money you should be willing to accept limitations on how it is used.

I’m sure there is no shortage of substandard housing in Mississippi.

I like the irony of conservatives that believe we need a strong national border and anti-immigration policy nationally think the best solution to increase an individual’s situation when the local government isn’t to their liking is to immigrate.

I don’t think we need a strong border. I am all for immigration, but please put more words in my mouth. Also should I assume it’s liberals that ruined their own state and then moved to Florida and Texas to get away from it?

mea culpa regarding your position on immegration

I think we should be very open to immigration… and that people should move states if they don’t like their state.

:mindblown:

I think NJ has one of the highest rates of immigrants living in it. All the better.

And then, once they’ve been there, the highest rate of emigrants!

By the way, in case anybody is actually interested in the thread topic, here are some links to recent articles (from websites certified as “safe for liberals”) on the Hunter Biden Investigation.

Oh yeah, well at least we have plenty of water over on this coast

Oh yeah? Well.,.,., I SLEPT WITH YOUR WIFE!!

As long as you don’t make a joke about her hair we’re good

Or tell her to smile.

Ha, yeah she wasn’t even smiling

If he broke laws prosecute him by all means. But honestly what it sounds like he’s guilty of doing is using his last name to secure some sweetheart consulting deals. If that’s a crime, there are a lot guilty rich people out there.

It’s probably bad for the midterms, but no real crimes here, just illegal drug use and prostitution and one of those FARA violation crimes (conspiracy to defraud the United States) that’s almost never prosecuted. Unless you’re Paul Manafort working on Trump’s campaign, then you get nailed for it and plead guilty.

Ninja risk acknowledged, but where are you seeing $500?

I’m seeing that both Democrats and Republicans needed to raise slightly north of $20,000. Which, while not astronomical, is a lot more than $500.

If he has committed crimes then he should go to jail.

If he is charged and tried, then the media should cover it.

What conservative pundits really wanted was for the media to speculate that hunter might be guilty, to lend credence to their own speculation that joe might might be guilty, so that trump could more easily make the argument that everyone else is really as corrupt as he is.

Follow the links in my original post. Look for the PAC and how it was funded.

The influx of money to local races in a state with no campaign contribution limits is something observers are closely watching. A typical school board race, depending on the district’s size, will cost anywhere from a few hundred dollars to up to $10,000 to run, strategists said. An infusion of $10,000 per slate could fund the type of campaign literature needed to boost name recognition and get votes.

Schools around the region opened in person this fall. But across Pennsylvania, hundreds of candidates are now running for school board seats backed by $500,000 from Martino — who says he wants to ensure those closures don’t happen again.

So I just tried to estimate the amount per candidate. The link in the post you replied to was just a way for you to look at your own state. The judges ruling was in PA. The llink was for Wisconsin and state legislature races.

I tried. I keep getting a pop up that I’ve won something and I can’t read the article. Turning off pop ups doesn’t seem to make it go away. :woman_shrugging:

Can’t read the WaPo without paying, but read the CNN one.

Sounds like he would be guilty of purchasing a firearm while being an illegal drug addict. Doubt the government would push that case due to his connections. However I don’t know how I feel about that charge in general, it seems to lack nuance (did not bother researching the exact statutory language).

The rest of it seems like people are “just asking questions” about things that, from what I read, seem like poor optics more than anything illegal.
