U.S. Vaccine Advisory Panel Recommends Restarting Use of J&J’s Covid-19 Shot https://www.wsj.com/articles/johnson-and-johnson-covid-vaccine-fda-cdc-advisory-committee-meeting-11619126227
No surprise there, but I wonder if the demand will crater with the known blood clot issue. I was seeing J&J at Walmarts and Krogers in rural areas, with plenty of open appointments. I hope it won’t be even harder to get shots into arms now.
I wouldn’t get J&J, but for men it seems much safer.
some expert chick on msnbc was saying that women under 50 should consider not getting J&J.
too late for me!
Happy birthday?
i meant too late for me to not get J&J cause i already got it. i’m still under 50.
Same… but it’s been many weeks at this point. We should be fine
I’m 2 weeks past my 2nd shot and I’m going to indoor church.
Those who are fully vaccinated don’t need to wear face masks when walking, exercising, dining or attending a small gathering outside, the CDC says
That should have always been the guidance.
Now, sometimes walking outside is a “large gathering” activity. So, wear a freakin’ mask!
Outdoor mosh pit? Wear a freakin’ mask!
yeah, i always thought it was a bit odd that i was expected to wear a mask walking around the streets of manhattan. not sure if this guidance is the official rules here now, but i’m going with it.
I’ll wait for my state to change its official rules, but i expect to stop wearing a mask when I’m just out walking around, too.
If my governor and mayor don’t update their guidance when I’m fully vaxxed by mid-May, I’ll just ignore the rules anyway. Government has no authority without the consent of the governed.
oh, I also made my own rule regarding the gym. I ain’t wearing a mask while on a cardo machine. so far, nobody has said anything and half the people do the same anyway. If they do say something to me, cool, I’ll put the mask on, leave, and quit the gym.
doing cardio with a mask is really unpleasant. I was also well outside of 6 feet away from the person closest to me.
How is that unvaccinated person supposed to eat at an outdoor restaurant while wearing a mask?
Lift up your mask, take a bite, replace mask. It’s not difficult, at least with the mask I most often wear.
I don’t know what the streets of Manhattan are like now in the COVID era, but if it’s anything like precovid days I would probably wear a mask.
I don’t wear a mask outdoors normally unless I am in a crowded area.
My sister, BIL and I will be visiting my cousins in 2 weeks. All the adults will be fully vaxxed except me; I’ll be 18 days post my first shot. I’m curious if they’ll ask me to wear a mask or not, given the new guidance. Given they’re both teachers and they have 2 small children, they might. And I would without hesitation.
it’s still crowded enough that you’re seeing people constantly, but you only see them for seconds at a time. it doesn’t seem that risky, especially when vaccinated, but even prior to a vaccine. i was only like half doing it even before the vaccine.
