After a few tries, I was able to procure a table at the Table de Lumiere restaurant (Disneyland Hotel) in Disneyland Paris for early July dinner.

Our 6 year old loves Frozen so we will be able to do some character dining with Elsa and Ana.

Little one is going to be very happy.

I always get an odd pleasure taking a westbound flight that crosses a time zone boundary…but is scheduled to be less than an hour long.

Auckland to Honolulu also turns back the clock -

However, going to Hawaii (even if it’s an 8½ hour flight) is a potentially happy thing (although I’ll admit that I’m not a fan of Oahu).

Going to rural Alabama…well, I’ll find happiness where I can.

running through the local park today and saw…mama and baby deer! spots and everything on the baby. cute.

Just bought a new boat. Slightly bigger and roomier than the last one. 60hp up from a 30hp as well.

I got $2500 trade in for the old boat and trailer and the guy wasn’t too sure about that lol. But I didn’t grind him, it’s a local marina and I bought it from his dad and they’ve treated me better than great for the last 20+ years.

Which is crazy, I’ve had this boat for over 20 years. IT’s seen a LOT of memories. My kids learned to waterski. My spouse and I many evenings of coffee and boating around Canadian lakes looking at cottages. Hundreds of UWaterloo students fishing. Fishing with my son and daughter, and my spouse.

We bought it in March, and here in Canada the lakes were still frozen. I was adamant that I was going to get the boat wet that weekend no matter how far south I had to drive. Which turned out to be Lake St. Norman in North Carolina - we drove the boat there in March the very weekend we got the boat. That entire trip was full of lifetime memories.

I had just paid $1K for a new 4 megapixel camera. We stopped at a roadside look out place on the way there, my spouse cleaned the garbage out of the minivan, and left the camera on top of the garbage can. 20+ years later, we were going to Florida and actually stopped at the same place. Camera was gone though.

It’s fawn season - saw the first on in our neighborhood this week. This is from a couple years ago, but I have nearly tripped over them a few times:

Close. But the name is just “Lake Norman”. I lived within 5 miles of that lake from 1961 - 1971.

Umpired a local youth baseball tournament.

Baseball HOF member and local legend joe mauer was coaching one of his kids in the event. Caused quite a buzz for the local baseball nerds. Dude could not have been better at patiently smiling and entertaining every request for photo, autograoh, whatever. He was just super chill and friendly the whole time.

I also got to work 2 games w my daughter (her plate, me bases).

Saw a 3 pitch inning where all 3 outs were the 1b unassisted!

I just got $49.11 as my share of the Loblaw/Weston Packaged Bread Class Actions Settlement in Canada: not a lot of “bread” relative to the amount of bread I bought in the 20 years covered by the settlement!

Any other Canadians here get their settlement? Probably not Breadmaker as he makes his own.
