How did the turkey die? May influence whether it is edible! My old chicken died a month ago and the only place for her is buried a few feet in the ground.
Seeing the grandkids this weekend!
This Globe article made me happy!

Yes, meep has already disclosed the reason behind the world’s longest living communities.
It’s fraud. people wanna collect those sweet social security cheques.
For all we know, Cooke’s been dead for years, propped up in a recliner in front of a TV playing corner gas while his son is touring the world riding high on CPP payments.
C’mon, you know fraud doesn’t exist in Canada.
One reason given for the Canadians’ longevity was drinking kefir. I must add that to my shopping list.
Kefir was introduced to me in Austria. An Austrian native was accustomed to pranking Americans who thought it was milk. He was dumbfounded when I asked for “Mehr, bitte!” ![]()
I swear to you, people in Canada, even if First Nations, will lie.
I posted in a student discord that i was.making ‘indian carrot pudding, but in india they just call it carrot pudding’.
A bunch of students replied that mom used to make.it, and it was called (insert the name) which translates to…carrot pudding lol. See, thats what i said.
I had kind of a farewell lunch with one of my first fishing with nerds students. They graduated their masters a while ago and just got a high paying job in toronto so theyre moving. This guy is one of the smarter people ive met, and is down for anything. If theres an experience to be had, hes all in. A really interesting guy, originally from tunisia. Worked in france for a year or two.then came to canada for his masters.
He was telling me that hes thinking of doing the arranged marriage thing. Ive seen this before with another fishing with nerds student, now married with a kid. Hes decided he wants a family and doesnt want to wait 3-4 years to find a north american spouse and get to that point.
Im On board, told him to do it. Call his mom back in tunisia, tell her to get on the auntie network looking for someone 25-30, educated, pretty, and willing to move to canada. Facetime with them for some months to get to know them. Then go back for a visit, and if they still seem sane, set a date. He gets a spouse and a family, she gets to move to canada with a nice guy with a good job.
Its arranged in the sense that its an introduction with expectations. Its not arranged in that its forced, or young. The other buddy that did it, they were both mid.late 20’s, both had masters, and they both seem super happy together.
Anyway, if.it.works.out, maybe i get invited to a wedding in tunisia. I got invited to india last time and couldnt make it, i regret that. I wont miss one in tunisia.
Grabbing my coat, I’ll be there in about eleven hours.
Snopes agrees (with the text, but not the meme’s claim it was the only civilian flight. Snopes agrees very few, but says at least 4 total, 3 of which were related to the snake bite incident).
I had lamb rogan josh for the first time in years. This was at a roti place in a shopping mall food court. So gooooooodd!!!
I had lamb a couple days ago as well. One of my fishing with nerds students graduated, is moving, and took me out for lunch. We went to a persian restaurant. Buddy’s arabic and a lot more worldly than me so he picked the place and I was assured it was excellent. It certainly was awesome. Lamb was great, rice outstanding, etc. And the tea was out of this world. I actually snagged some of the tea bags to bring home, liked it so much I bought a box of amazon. And I’m not really a tea drinker.
Which reminds me of a really random thought lol. When my spouse and I were first dating, she made me tea all the time. She’s a tea drinker, and I just went along. After some months, I was absolutely sick of tea. I finally confessed that I wasn’t a fan, and begged for a coffee lol.
Man, those were the days. We had a lot of fun dating way back then.
I like tea, but I love coffee. When traveling in some countries I drink tea when it’s better and more available than coffee. For example despite the fame of “turkish coffee” they drink tea in Turkey.
was running on my usual wooded trail today. came up to a point where a guy was walking like 50-75 feet in front of me.
heard a huge CRACK.
i look up, guy looks up and scrambles back towards me. branch lands where he had been!
we pull the branch off the trail, i ask if he’s ok, he is. he laughs and says he must be lucky today.
was sizable but mostly dry/dead. he’d have def been hurt by it had it hit him.
Finally taking our kids to Niagara Falls tomorrow. Going to the Canada side because the kids want to use their passports, plus it’s the better side anyway.
you must be closer to me than I would’ve thought. though honestly I’ve absolutely no concept of where most posters are.
