Such a great time of year for sports. The NFL, EPL, NHL and NBA seasons are under way but, more importantly, there are three sports in playoff mode.
On Saturday, I have the choice of watching my Vancouver Whitecaps playing Dallas in the MLS playoffs or my B.C. Lions hosting the Calgary Stampeders in the CFL West semi-final. And my Blue Jays might be playing in a World Series Game 7.
halloween prep and…i have begun my annual consumption of fun size everything. started with the payday/rolo/milk dud/take 5 bag.

So my Alma Mater’s football team scored 23 unanswered points late in the game today to overcome a 12 point deficit to win and advance to the Yates Cup final. The Yates Cup dates back to 1898 so is one of the older North American football competitions. University football is not big commercially in Canada but going to the games was always fun.

My brother in law is a huge fan of hers. She lives not that far from me, maybe 40 minutes away in a tiny town. My BIL says though that you’ll never know where she lives - nobody in town will say a word.
Actually a quick google suggests she may not live there any more. Eh, I don’t keep up.

Humblebrag. I just did a 1.5 hour presentation on finances to engineering students at waterloo. I got 100% 5 star ratings from everyone and almost all.of them extended that with enthusiastic comments.
It was really a test case, one of the banks wanted me to do this (they have a product they push). Looks.like it went well enough that ill be doing it next term.
Random thought, typical.students. Registration was required, half the folks that registered were no shows and half the people that showed hadnt registered. And i bought enough food for maybe twice as many as registered, and there wasnt a stick of food left. Nothing.
I even brought a pizza.specific to one person, they had specific requirements. They no-showed, but someone ate their entire pizza lol.

my brother called last week laughing. he was visiting back home and they had a turkey they wanted put in the freezer. the sob suggested they let it grow a bit more, and that I would do it when I came down.
so I’m visiting this weekend, brought my clothes for a job like that. happy thoughts… the turkey died. so I didn’t have to deal. with that lol.
