Dropped my son and my oldest daughter’s FIL at the train station today to catch the Vancouver to Toronto train. Gave me happy memories of the three days I spent on this transcontinental train with my buddies in 1973.

The wii [refurbished] and a couple of games I ordered, to replace mine that hasn’t worked in like 6 years, that was originally projected to be delivered tomorrow is expected to arrive today! Sweet! Going to be hard to give many Fs this afternoon.

An SUV crunched my bumper a couple of weeks ago. The driver behind me stopped, told the other driver that he saw the whole thing, that it was her fault, and handed me his business card. My insurance set up the repair, and (based on the statement of the eyewitness) told me that they determined I was not at fault the same day. A local policeman stopped just to make sure that I was OK.
I picked up a rental car, paid for by my insurance, a day before we left on vacation. Our road trip lasted 10 days. Our car was returned to me a day early, detailed as well as perfectly repaired.

It’s the last day of the state fair and the weather is stunning! Off we go to eat some food, admire some quilts, see some livestock, and eat some more food.

Yee’s mango stand in Kihei is the absolute pinnacle. Tonight we made mango sticky rice for dessert, doesn’t get too much better than this.

Not fully confirmed, eg quote and exactly what she did not confirmed, but Wikipedia agrees crash occurred and all 24 men survived, and adds that she received the Distinguished Flying Cross for her work there.

Great that she kept them all alive and everything, and IANAN or D, but isn’t that her doing her job for 19 hours?

Maybe, but if someone told me they calculated all the stochastic forecast numbers needed for a high pressure meeting without a computer after crash landing on an island, I’d probably give them some kind of award. And that work is pretty pointless in comparison to saving lives in wartime.

This young woman has taken Canada by storm. Her parents fled the DRC for America before making Canada their home. She is a very low seed but has been beating highly-seeded players to reach the finals of the Canadian Open tennis tournament.

My wife was watching a youtube video, a guy reviewing cannolis. The shop was couple of towns over, but they were broadcasting about a mile from here.

As the reviewer is speaking we clearly and loudly hear our friend speak her name (most likely into the phone), which he also repeats before continuing

Per Snopes, partially true. Snopes confirms the dispute and the water, but not the floodlights or machinery. Also while Snopes seems to agree Molly is relevant, it says Michael Forbes owned the house, and therefore had the final decision on whether or not to sell.

You must really be happy that Mboko won!

Only the second time in 55 years that a Canadian has won the Canadian Open. The last time it happened (2019) the young woman then won the US Open.

We had some very solid HY25 results so we are now planning a nice corporate funded lunch for the team.

Might try Burger & Lobster again in the City They had some decent food and drinks.

Mostly confirmed by Wikipedia and another source, though they only say that Korkut risked his life to save it, and that he took it to a Muslim village where it was protected (but they don’t say how it was protected there.)

Wish I had that kind of disposable income.
