Last child passed her driver’s test today! I’ve successfully been able to get all 4 of them to “adulthood”. Not quite independence, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!
I really love the World Cup episode of Ted Lasso (season 3).
FINALLY…my son has his US work visa. Been trying since May. Between the company and immigration, holy cow.
Which means he should be in Alaska PDQ. Lol just in time for fall winter. Missed summer.
And the finale is so perfect!
I’m a little wary of what a 4th season might do to the franchise.
Interesting. I thought season 4 was definitely off the cards, but apparently not. I thought season 3 did enough damage. I liked some of the season 3 episodes but it was way too watered down for my taste (not salty enough?).
Brought home 3/4 of a Costco pumpkin pie from a potluck.
Just had a slice of Costco pumpkin pie. Like 30 seconds ago.
Yum!
Season 3 was wonderful! It was a little bit of a journey, but I just love how it all comes together in the second half. Lots of emotions for me. I love season 1 on its own, but 2&3 have a lot of character growth and, I dunno, I just love it all.
I’d be happy that 1/4 of it is already gone.
I’ve never been impressed by Costco pies. They taste “industrial”.
I like their pumpkin pies. Not sure I’ve eaten others. Local store pies are crap. Happy to say I get homemade apple pie.
I suppose there are limitations on you purchasing pies.
I think Costco does pumpkin pie better than other grocery stores (and it’s so much larger and cheaper!).
I actually doubt I’ve ever had one. I was more imposing my thoughts on their pecan pie onto everything else about them. I have had their pecan pie…something about it is just “missing”…maybe not enough corn syrup.
A happy thought regardless, but a happier thought the more above 1.40 a coffee is in typical French cafes.
It is hard to imagine a pecan pie I wouldn’t like, but some are indeed much better than others. Haven’t tried Costco, in fact can’t remember last time getting a whole pie anywhere. Years ago.
Mind you, it wasn’t bad and I didn’t dislike it…Ive simply had much better.
I have never tried pecan pie, and likely never will, since I’m allergic.
Picture is a happy thought, but overall today is an extremely sad thought. The dog at our house is a rescue, adopted by our adult daughter who lives at home. After several months, she is returning the dog to the shelter tomorrow because it just isn’t working out, mainly because dog can be too aggressive toward me. It was on anxiety meds when she adopted him, not even a low dose, because of how it reacted around other dogs at the shelter. She still has problems when he sees other dogs on his walks. (Some lowering of dose while she had him, but never off completely, and now back to original dose or above I believe.) During the day he is fine toward me, but in the evenings he got very upset at seeing me in the same room. She concluded it’s just too high risk, even though he has not bitten me. (A good bit of barking and baring his teeth, and she felt the need to keep him on his leash, with her holding the leash, if I was in the same room.)
(Even besides me, there are other issues with his anxiety. He’s never been groomed, even daughter hasn’t tried it. When she’s taken him to the vet, he’s had to be sedated for them to examine his ears.)
But he is very affectionate to her, gets along with my wife all the time, and gets along with me fine during the days.
ETA: realized after posting that dog is being returned not Friday (which is now today, at time of edit) but Saturday
I like pecans and I like pie but I don’t like nuts in sweet things.
(I also dislike white chocolate but somehow Otis Spunkmeyer white chocolate macadamia nut cookies are the exception that proves TWO rules.)
