My wife and I agree now that both our mother-in-laws are dead it’s not so bad having a mother-in-law.

This is not as absurd as it initially appears.

I have seen home improvement shows on TV where the episode focuses on a lake front property, but the local building codes do not allow piers or boat docks into the lake. So they build a floating pier and license it as a boat.

I was going to say, if my mil came to harrass me, i’d straighten right up since she’s been dead 14 years.

But i do miss her because she was great.

When I married my wife (I was 22 she was 21) we only had her father as a surviving parent-in-law. I have never fully understood these MIL ideas.

Some good ones this morning! Or maybe I’m just in a giggly mood…

My kids had 4 grandparents in their 20s
My brothers kids 37 and 39 have 3 grandparents

Probably has a lot to do with how close the generations are.

My mother had kids young, as did my older sister. So Mom has great grandkids kicking around.

I had kids a bit older, and my kids are having kids a bit older. I doubt I’ll ever see great grandkids.ill.be in the dirt before that generation.

Yeah, my dad was 40 when I was born and my mom was 36. My wife’s dad was a year younger than my mom. My grandfather was 40 when my father was born, he was the 2nd youngest like me. My mom was also the 2nd youngest of a big family too. So all my grandparents were gone by the time I was 6 or 7.

Growing up, I had always had the intention of marrying an oldest or close child so my kids would have grandparents for a long time. I forgot to ask my future wife before we started dating.
