I saw something on FB about how somewhere in south or southeast asia they said farmers had started raising ducks instead of chickens so they don’t get wiped out when the typhoons hit and floods everything.
To be fair those are basically coasters now anyway. I can’t remember the last computer I had with a floppy drive. I can’t even get an optical drive these days…

I worked in an office in 1996, the summer after high school. They had only a handful of PCs, and nobody really wanted them. I was given a new IBM desktop because they bought ten and only like six people asked for them, so the rest were on a shelf.
The whole accounting and finance system ran on this IBM mainframe, and I think the software was from the early 80s. And once a day they had to do a backup. It required everyone on the system to log out to clear resources, and then they backed it up to the big 8” floppy disks. I found it humorous in 1996, didn’t know there was still demand going in 2024!
