My parallel parking skills have kind of evaporated. When I was in college, parallel parking was the norm. I drove a 1966 Ford Galaxie that must have been 36 feet long, and it didn’t have a mirror on the pasenger side of the car. I could stab that thing in on the first try, every time, and put it six inches from the curb.
Now I have a compact car with a backup camera and I have to at least make one extra forward/backward trip before I get it parked.
How I wish you could make a living parallel parking. It’s all geometry, knowing all the angles, when to make that first turn and then when to swing it back in, that’s the key.
To each thier own. Opening the dishwasher seems like minimal effort to avoid leaving dirty dishes soaking in thier own filth in the sink trying to attract insects.
Rare exception is anything that needs to soak to get the crud off.
Yes! Yes, you are. It requires astonishingly little effort to open the dishwasher and put the cup in there. Barely more effort than putting it in the sink.
Yeah, when I was living in Boston and parallel parking multiple times a day every day I was really good at it. Even left-side parallel parking was ok, although I’m always better on the right.
Now that I live in the burbs I hardly ever parallel park and it hits me when I do that mid-40s me sucks at it compared to mid-20s me.
Preach. And even then… you just put water in the pan, not the pan in the water. Why do you want to get the underside of the pan dirty? I mean, I’ll give it a once over when I’m done washing it anyway, but why go out of your way to spread the mess around???
Effort to move it from the sink to the dishwasher: 0.100 - 10 depending on how dirty the cup gets in the sink and whether subsequent rinsing is required.
Effort to first put in the sink and then move to the dishwasher: 0.195 - 10.095
